Questions about being Seasonal Cast Member

If I'm in the wrong board, throw me in the right direction please.

I live in South Carolina and would like to work at WDW during the summer. I figured the best way to do this is by applying for a seasonal position. Is this something seasonal CMs do? Do seasonal CMs get scheduled every week of availability or only when needed? Does Disney allow seasonal CMs to live in Disney housing? Is there a number I can contact to speak with someone at WDW about my questions? The number they provided in the email (for scheduling an interview) for any questions doesn't get me in touch with a person. It either gives me information or directs me to the website. Anyone here tried working at WDW from out of state during the summer?

The only question I can answer for you, and it's probably a very important one for your planning, is an absolute no re-housing. That is only for the college program. I wish I could help you more.

I don't think that option exists
They have hundreds locally working part time

They still have seasonal, but I think when a friend applied last year you had to give them a month or so of availability before they would give you any real kind of schedule.

If hired as seasonal you must provide 12 weeks of full availability for training. After that you must work 150 hours per year. You are only scheduled as needed, which depends on the location. You can pick up shifts from coworkers or sometimes in other locations.

And the 150 hours per year is on a rolling 12 month calendar per quarter - so at the end of March you have to have 150 hours going back 12 months, and then again at the end of June, and again at the end of September.......

It's complicated and difficult. I think if you wanted to work just for the summer it would be easier to get hired, and then quit when you are ready to go home. And, of course, you would need to find your own housing.

Thanks for the replies. So no housing, that's fine. I would give them full availability from May-August, but will they schedule me every week between then, or only as I am needed? Diznygirl thank you for clearing up the 150 hours.

During the summer busy period, your chances of staying on the schedule are better, but there is no guarantee. Hours go to the college program CMs before the seasonal.

Does anyone know exactly what the perks are for Seasonal cast members? Any information would be great. Thank you.

I'd suggest you contact Disney to ask this sort of question. I'ts my understanding that Disney CMs aren't really supposed to discuss such things on an open forum
