I've bought and sold privately (both DVC and other timeshares). I've also bought through a broker but never sold through one, no reason to for me. Of course there are certain requisites like DVC's ROFR and the transfer fee as well the the deed prep and recording process. You can get someone like Timeshare transfer who will do the closing for $250 including up to $50 in recording fees, that'd be $350 I assume with the transfer fee. You could even just get it down to deed prep as the recording and notification process isn't that difficult or expensive and the ROFR issue is downright easy.
