Question re: non-stop SW flights from BUF to MCO

When a flight is non-stop from Buffalo to Orlando, does it originate in Buffalo? Or could it be the second leg of a flight coming from somewhere else? The reason I ask is because I really want to be able to sit with my husband, as he has never flown and he's a bit anxious about it. If we're coming in to a flight that's already half loaded, even with our (hopefully) A boarding our chances seem to be slim.
So tell me good news, folks.

Well of course the flight comes from somewhere else but being that Buffalo is at the northern end of the country, it's unlikely to be filled with passengers from the prior city going to Orlando. This past Wednesday I was on the evening nonstop from Buffalo to Orlando. If I remember correctly, the aircraft had this routing: ORANGE COUNTY-PHOENIX-CHICAGO MIDWAY-BUFFALO-ORLANDO. Now no one in their right mind would fly from California or Phoenix to Orlando via Chicago and Buffalo. And while it's possible that someone originated at Chicago to fly to Orlando via Buffalo, that's unlikely either when there are so many nonstop options. I don't even know if Southwest listed that flight as a Chicago to Orlando option.

My originating flight in Orlando had an OAKLAND-ORLANDO-BUFFALO routing and then overnighted at BUF.

Basically, I don't think you need to worry about the plane being half full already. Just check-in 24-hrs in advance so that you're in the 'A' boarding group and you should have no problem getting seats together.

I've never been on a n/s flight from Buff to Mco that already had passengers on it, particularly if you are flying out first thing in the am. And I've never seen A boarding pass people not get to sit together. Should be fine.

Well, I can safely say that we've had "A" passes and we didn't sit together.

That particular flight, we arrived at the airport 70 minutes prior to take off. Trouble was, it took us 65 minutes to get through the security line-up. There was actually someone waiting for us in the walkway (where the golf carts go), and as soon as we got on the plane they closed the door, and the plane was moving like 22 seconds later.

We don't cut it that close any more.
