DH and I are tentatively (hopefully, crossing fingers!) planning a trip in Oct at AKL. Some friends of ours may also be joining us. We would probably do the MYW dining plan, and they would as well, but would have separate resort rooms.

My question is, are the servers able to split the check for us at the sit-down dining locations so we can utilize our dining 'credits'? We would of course tell them at the beginning of the meal so they could be prepared. I would make PS for a party of 4 as would be usual.

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answer to this one! :earsgirl: :flower:

I have never seen any problem in splitting a check at WDW. As you indicate, it is easier on the server if you let them know at the start.

There are two possible "jokers", but neither probably apply to you. One is that for a group of eight or more there is an automatic 18% gratuity added; this is done even if the checks are split. The other is with a DDE card the card can only be used for one check.

Thanks for the reply, cheshire figment - figment is one of my favorite characters. Oh how I miss the original JIYI!

Anyways, there would be 4 of us, 2 couples to be exact, all adults dining. Being a small group, we wouldn't have the potential extra gratuity. I know that with MYW dining they are incorporating the tip into the package, but we'd give a little extra for exceptional service. And if you're at WDW, you usually do get that exceptional service! ::MickeyMo
