Will we receive an ME booklet in the mail before departure if we only have a reservation for the return trip?

I just made one-way ME arrangements for now because I don't know where we will be for the first two nights of our trip. Might rent a car for the first part of our trip. (Hoping a waitlist for VGF comes through, although I don't have a lot of confidence that it will).

So, just wondering if the ME people will mail me anything before the trip or if I should plan on confirming the return at the resort when we check in - I'm assuming that the letter that we'll get under the door the night before will allow us on the bus.

TIA!

You need to have a reconfirmed return-to-airport Magical Express reservation after you get there in any event.

The normal deadline is morning of the day before the day you will leave the resort and DME generally delivers that reconfirmation to your room. But if that is missing or needs changes you need to go to the front desk that morning of the day before you leave and get it squared away and pick up the written reconfirmation as soon as it becomes available which could be in the afternoon.

For good measure you can make or verify your homebound DME reservation as early as when you arrive at MCO but you still need a printed reconfirmation.

You should get in the mail any details (in a brochure) for the return trip. For streamlined processing and efficiency it is possible you will get the same booklet that round trip and Disney-bound DME guests get.

I made one-way (back to the airport only) reservations for DME through DVC Member Services a few days ago. I was told they would not mail a packet because we did not need inbound luggage routing tags. We'll just receive our DME envelope with the pickup time and everything else we need the day before our departure.

It makes sense to me to make any DME reservations before leaving home. Why wait?

I did make the 1-w ME reservation via email to MS and rec'd the same info you did - just wondering if I needed to do anything else as MS is not always 100% correct and in the past, I have always done RT and rec'd the bus vouchers for both ways in the booklet.

If I don't get anything in the mail, I'll just call after I arrive to confirm departure details.

Thanks, everyone!

If you already made the reservation, you should be receiving the envelope with your vouchers for the return trip on your room door the night before your departure. You probably won't get anything in the mail at home.

Regardless, calling DME when you arrive to reconfirm your reservation is the best way to go.

Just curious what the end result ended up being (if it happened yet). Nearing 30 days out from our next trip and using DME for return only. The OCD in me needs to know if I need to keep an eye our for mail.... :hourglass

We booked DME for the return trip only (arrived by rental car) and we got our info in the Mickey Mail.

We also got the cute luggage tags which we were advised to not put on our luggage on the trip down because that would increase the chances that the DME luggage staff would leave the bags at MCO for us to get from the luggage pick up area so we had our bags for the first few days of our trip.

Everything went seamlessly.

Confirmed. Got the envelope today. Was just the booklet with the vouchers and no luggage tags, but that exactly what I was expecting anyway. At first I was thrown off when the vouchers had our arrival date, but then I saw it specifically say that the same vouchers were for both to and from the resort.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. They made the wait less stressful.

Thought I'd let everyone know that I received a ME mailing for both 1-way reservations (like a few of you). We have a split stay. First 2 nights at BLT and last 5 at BWV.

The first mailing contained a booklet with a voucher plus our yellow luggage tags. This was for the trip from MCO to BLT. It listed only our arrival flights (which makes sense since that's all I told them, LOL).

The second mailing arrived a few days later. It had the booklet with the voucher for our return trip from BWV to MCO. It listed our departure flights.

Our mailbox has been getting lots of communications from Disney these past few days. We also received two invitations to test MM+ / FP+ a few days apart and one set of magic bands for the BLT reservation. It looks like we will be getting another set of MBs for BWV next week.

I am officially excited! :teeth:
