We drive everywhere. We usually get to MK early enough to be able to park close enough that we don't need to catch a tram, and we enjoy the monorail and ferry rides.

Doesn't mk still have the aaa diamond member parking area?
The MOST TERRIFYING experiences I have ever had at Disney both involved Tram drivers who were INSANE! In both cases they drove way too fast and took turns way too sharp and whipped the cars about. The seats were slippery and when trying to keep seated while holding a squirming toddler, a stroller, and the effluvia of motherhood I found my self unequal to the task.
I will happily avoid tramming again.
It is very possible that I experienced highly unusual and freak occurrences, but it left enough emotional scars to prompt my advice.
We have kids who love the busses. So for us, it depends. I did miss my car the one time we flew in and took the ME. While that was convenient, not having a car was just so weird for us.We always have a hire car. Apart from using the bus transportation to go to the dinner shows e.g. Spirt of Aloha etc we much prefer to be masters of our own timetable and therefore drive to all the parks![]()
Thank you! Can you let me know why it would be better to take the bus to MK? Is it just due to size of park, amount of people, etc.?
if you drive to the MK you need to take at least 2 additional forms of transportation
Twice, in my experience, people have even started singing to their kids, which is incredibly sweet.

Our last three trips have been to Pop and we flew, so we always used Disney transportation. Our next trip we are staying at the campground and plan on using the boat to MK, but driving to all the other parks.
The busses aren't horrible IMO but they aren't great. And with 2 small children I will be quite happy to be able to put them in their carseats with their blankies and a snack and start driving, rather than having tired kids trying to endure a bus ride. One time it was standing room only and my poor dd was literally falling asleep on her feet during the ride back at the end of the night. I think using our car will be easier on our kids next trip.
But, if you are staying at the campgrounds, won't you be taking Ft. Wilderness buses to and from your overnight accommodations to get to and from your car and to and from the Settlement boat dock?
