I am reading a disney guidebook and am wondering why it says to stay away from animal kingdom on mondays and fridays (this would be for mid october)...any reason why these days are bad for AK? Also, is it true that epcot is better on weekends during this time because of school trips....does it really impact the parks...thanks:earsgirl:

They're saying that because Monday and Friday are "extra magic hour" days for AK, meaning resort guests can enter the park
1 hour prior to "non-resort" guests. If your a resort guest, I would recommend
AK EMH to get a jump on the safari and Bugs life. Mid October, after Columbus
Day holiday should not be that bad. Just my opinion. We'll be there 10/23, and EMH for AK on 10/25!

It's definitely Extra Magic Hour on Monday and Friday at the AK. I believe that Mondays and Fridays are also the days that they allow the animals to roam freely throughout the park. It really gets quite chaotic!

;)

Extra Magic Hour Schedule

Sunday - Magic Kingdom
Monday - Animal Kingdom
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios
Wednesday - Epcot
Thursday - Magic Kingdom
Friday - Animal Kingdom
Saturday - Disney-MGM Studios

EMH days tend to be more crowded.
