Question on traveling with neice

I am hoping to take my neice with me on my December trip. Our last names are not the same. How will that work with the airline. Will I need permission from her parents in writing or anything? Thanks!

There should not be a problem. But, I would suggest calling the specific airline just to make sure.

Regardless of what the airline policy is, you should have a notarized letter from her parents allowing you to consent to medical treatment for your niece. God forbid that anything happens, but many doctors (including drop-by clinics) will decline to provide treatment without such a form. Emergency rooms will treat her regardless, but that's potentially big $. You also should be certain that you have her medical insurance documentation.
