Mornin'!!! Yeah, ok not quite......:rotfl2:

Today's question:
Scrap, keep, toss

Do you scrap all your pics?
Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they?
Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo?
Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them?

My photos are all digital so I keep them all! I don't print them all though, just what I want to scrap (so last year's Disney trip had around 1000 pictures, I only printed 250 or so)

Do you scrap all your pics? mostly yes

Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they? so far yes. They are currently in a photo safe box.

Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo?

Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them?that's 50 - 50, if it is a one time thing like or first trip to WDW, the Spectromagic pics were horrendous but since I wasn't sure if we would ever go back I did scrap them. If it is something that I can always get later, then I'll chuck it in a heartbeat. I also toss 90% of the pics the kids take. Sometimes they are good but most of the time it's a pic of a thumb or the TV.

Since mine are digital I only print the ones I think I might use, though I often won't use all of the ones I print. I usually will hold on to the ones I don't use in case I find something else to use it for.

Faerie and Yzerbear,
All are digital?? what about the ones of you when you were little. Do you have those?
We are strictly digital since 2004 but I have the large CM photo box over filled with pics, from when DH was little up til July 2004. Plus what my mom has. We are scanning pics but it is daunting at times. We just inherited pics from my great uncle (90's when he passed) and he had pics of his grandparents.
Do you scan any of your old pics to make them digital?

I digitized all of mine from when I was little through high school. Took a long time but SOO worth it when I did a friendship album for my BFF.

My mom has a lot of our older family photos scanned already from her scrapbook projects. She has the originals, but I went through them the one day and pulled a bunch I wanted scanned and took them to Walgreens to scan since my scanner is dead. They did a good job. It costs $4.99 for 80 photos to be scanned and put on a CD. I do have some photos from the film camera, but those have been scanned. The originals stored in a photo album.

Yep, it's just morning... for me... the chaos is in full swing until at least 8:30pm tonight.. than it's the chaos of the bedtime routine, reading, last minute homework check and to help DD w/ a project already!

Do you scrap all your pics? Seems like it.. I just can't toss them or not scrap them unless they are blurry or really NOT up to par...

Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they? Yes, I have them divide by year w/ an index card that notes date, event.

Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo? ONLY if they are blurry beyond recognition from film.. if they are on the digital.. they stay unless they are REALLY BAD, than I delete..

Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them? If they are film.. toss... for example the photo DH took of my butt.. yep, it hit the trash can with a thud! The digital ones I keep.... unless of course it's my shoe.. which I took one of my shoe the other day.. why? I have NO idea.. they weren't special shoes!

Umm...I've only managed 4 books so far, so there are a lot of pics still left to scrap.

The photos from my childhood will probably all get scrapped, there are so few compared to what I take now with digital, that tossing a blurry one, but it's the only one of something (like my dog's puppies) would be throwing away part of my history. My mom already threw out the really, really bad ones (where you can't even tell what the picture is).

For the Disney albums I did, I scrapped about 80% of them. And kept the rest. They are just in a box. I want to go back and re-examine them. I'm a big history nut, and now what I look for in a picture is different. I might have taken a photo in a parade and didn't use it because I got a better close up, but the shot from farther away showed a topiary or other flora, that isn't there anymore, a shop that has changed, etc.

For digital stuff, I only print the best, but the rest are saved so I can get them whenever I want.

The only stuff that gets completely tossed, is the pics that you can't identify what is in the picture.

I really don't throw anything away. Photos take up so little space.

Before I went digital, I used to always get double copies of photos - one to scrap, one to put into a regular sleeved photo album. (Because I learned the hard way when the girls needed a photo of themselves for school and all mine were glued into scrapbooks!) Only the totally obvious bad photos (dark, completely blurry, etc) got thrown away. Now that I'm digital, I no longer have that extra photo album but obviously everything gets saved. It's hard for me to press that delete button - it has to be a really bad photo! All my childhood pictures are currently in photo boxes, with the goal of being scrapped "someday." Not sure when someday will come. I can't really bring myself to throw any of those away.

I do try to scrap every photo. It's not like I have my camera out 24/7 so if it was significant enough for me to take a picture, it probably deserves to be scrapped. I will weed and only scrap the best photos (enough for a layout / layouts) - Digital certainly makes that easier.

I am definitely one that will scrap a less than stellar picture. If there is a story that goes with it and/or it's the only photo I have, it goes in. I always say that my scrapbooks are for me, not for anyone else, so if I can look at that blurry picture and know why it's there, that's a good enough reason.

Do you scrap all your pics? No way! My husband takes a TON of pictures of stuff (the signs at Disney, the animals at Disney (not the AK ones - just ducks sitting at MK), random rocks on a hike one day). While I usually like these, I pick the best ones an journal about his weird thing pictures.
Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they? I am 100% digital now too - thanks to my sister. She took the pictures from my parents house one year (3 full rubbermaid BIG tubs and some sticky albums). She started to scan them but found a service and had them scanned. She gave our parents the CD's as Christmas gifts. (I too got a copy ;) ).
Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo? I actually shred them - yes I am JUST that paranoid!
Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them? I delete some, yes. If they are horrible at download, I'll delete them. But if they made it through the first review, they're pretty much there to stay.

BTW - I love the "Question of the Day" threads!

... for example the photo DH took of my butt.. yep, it hit the trash can with a thud!

Hey, I almost choked on my mouthful of water to keep from spitting it on my monitor while reading this!:sad2: :rotfl:

Do you scrap all your pics? No.

Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they?Pre-digital, most of them. Those are mainly in a box. As for the digital ones, I just print what I'm going to scrap, otherwise they stay in the hard drive and disks.

Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo?Depends on what it is. If I have a better one like it, then I toss. If not, I tend to hang onto them.

Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them?Again, depends on what it is. If it is totally unusable, then I toss.

Do you scrap all your pics? no
Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they?it deoends- I have kept most of the ones from before I went digital but I also tend to send them to other family members that the event was for. Most of my photos are from showers and graduations and such so I will send the extras pics to the person whose event i was attending.

NBow that I use mainly digital I only print the ones I am using and I tend to go through those on the computer and delete duplicates and bad photos (sometimes right from the camera)

Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo?I rarely toss photos but I will give them away

Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them?I toss them- I don't have room wround the house for them

The digital ones I keep.... unless of course it's my shoe.. which I took one of my shoe the other day.. why? I have NO idea.. they weren't special shoes!
One of the things my brother does when he goes anywhere is take a picture of his feet so that he can prove he was there. My sister and I will sometimes do a "foot" shot if we find something interesting. I haven't really scrapped those pictures, but that could be an interesting album! :lmao: My brother said he wants to a coffee table book of all the feet pictures he has. I told him he should do a Shutterfly photo book. :) Of course first he would need a coffee table! :lmao:

Here is a group shot of our feet at Navy Pier in Chicago in September 2005. Its funny because we all had Sketchers sneakers. (Mine is in the middle):

Do you scrap all your pics? No, but lately I have been doing a large percentage of them.
Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they? I don't print many, digital photos, digital scrapbooking. My computer holds all my memories. Yes I need to print my pages!
Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo? No
Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them? Depends on how bad they are. I really hate tossing pics of my son, seems like I'm throwing him away! I will keep dark ones, but if his head is half cut off or something like that I will toss it.

Do you scrap all your pics? Pretty much. Since my pics are digital now, I scrap what I print (and I print WAY too many). I haven't accomplished scanning in all of my old stuff (when DH and I used film only, and the stuff from when I was little), but I have those planned, and I couldn't bear not to scrap them.
Do you keep the ones you don't scrap, if yes where are they? Yes, the very few that don't get scrapped and the ones waiting to be scrapped are in photo safe boxes (for older pics) and the CM power sort box for recent family album photos that I don't have in an album yet.
Do you ever toss a usable (not always perfect) photo? No
Do you toss unusable pics or do you hang on to them? I usually hang on to them, and then in a "clean my scrap room NOW" frenzy, I throw away the unusable ones! It takes a lot, though, to make me decide it's unusable!
