how old were your kids when you got the pool? is it above ground or built in?

We got a 27' round above ground pool last summer and my kids were then 12, 10 and 8. I wish we had done it sooner!

We moved in to a house with a 27 foot round above ground when the kids were 6 & 4. They love it!

We have an above-ground pool that was here when we moved in. DS was 2 at the time.

We've had an above-ground pool since before DS12 was born.

When I was born my parent had a pool, so I just assumed that all houses came with pools. lol. Anyway because of growing up with a pool, I always wanted one, so when we bought our house, DS was 1 year old at the time, we put in a pool and it was an in ground pool.

We have an inground pool that we put in when DD was 3 or 4. The summer before we put it in, however, we put up one of those $100 above ground pools we picked up at Walmart. We wanted to be sure DD would listen to us and not go near it without us before we put in anything that was permanent. I also had DD taking swimming lessons from the time she was a baby. I didn't learn to swim until after she was born so I felt strongly that I wanted her to have that skill. We have loved having a pool.

Our 1st house had a pool when DH and I bought it long before DS was born.

The 2nd house we put the pool in and DS was 3, DD not born.

Third house the kids are 12 and 6, no pool and never plan to put one in. Its much easier IMOP to just go to the local pool club and let them maintain it.

We installed a 16x32 inground pool when our kids were 3 & 4. The local Y sent two instructors over (10 day class twice a summer) and several of the neighborhood kids took lessons in our pool for 4 years. We split the cost with the neighbors. We've had it 15 years.

My daughter was 2 when I got a pool- its above ground. Best purchase ever- doesn't take al that much to maintain it- just toss in the automatic vacuum and take it out when its done- add chlorine and you are good to go!

We have a 14 X 24 inground pool. It's a perfect size for us and we love it! We just got a heater installed this year and my kids have been using it non-stop! It is the best money we have ever spent! My kids were 4 and 7 when we got the pool and they are now 9 and 12 and still love it!

When we had our house built we put in the inground pool. At the time the older kids were 10, 12, 13 and 18. The younger kids grew up with the pool. It was the best investment we ever made!

We put up an above ground pool (21') when the kids were six, four and one. It has been great for them and summers are never boring. Sometimes, I wish we did an inground, but that wasn't in the budget and I really don't know how it would work in this yard.

We had above ground pools each summer since DD was 1. Each year we would get a progressively larger EZ-Set pool until DD was 4 when we installed an in ground pool. We are still saying it's the best money we ever spent. Even more so now that I'm way too pregnant in this heat.

Is it a pain to maintain? Yeah, and expensive too... but it's worth it to us.

What kind of pool is it? When you say it's the right size, why is that? DH & I have been toying with the idea of a fiberglass pool, and think we should go big, but they are expensive...wondering if you regret not going larger? How deep is it?

We bought our house last April and it came with a 19x32 in-ground pool. It has been a pain to maintain, but we absolutely love it. DD was 6 at the time we bought it. We swim in it almost every night during the summer months and have all the neighborhoods kids over on the weekends. We also have a hot tub attached to the pool and we leave that open up until December. We have a shallow end of about 3 feet then it gradually slopes down to 6 feet. We would like to put in a slide eventually.

We have an in-ground pool thats been here before we had the kids. The kids are now 13 and 17 and live in said pool.:rotfl:

We are putting one up this year. We can not get an inground pool too many coal mines around me. Kids are 9,7,4 and 1. The local pool is not opening this year because of budget cuts.
