Has anybody gotten fast passes from a DVC? The ones that have 4 each of use on them?
How do they work? do you have to go to the fast pass kios to get them for that ride? What if the fast passes are all gone?
Sorry for all the questions....still new at the "DVC" game.
Going to Home Resort" in 3 weeks, one day.....but who's counting....:confused3.....

Thanks for the info in advance

We got our Fastpasses by seeing our guide. I know others had them at the resort when they checked in.
As far as using them, you go to the fastpass station, and insert the card. It will then give you an immediate entrance time to the attraction. What i can't remember is if the Fastpass station is closed, if we were able to use them...we never encountered that scenario. :surfweb:

thanks for the input

does anybody know what happens when the fasspass kios id closed, can you talk to a CM?

I think it is a 'it depends' type situation. When the FPs are out of FPs for the day I've simply asked to 'use' the FP at the FP lane and they let me do so with a handwritten note, another CM magically produced a FP for me (I was on my own), another CM had us use them in the GAD machine, and yet another CM said we were out of luck. They will work in the GAD FP machine but the CMs manning the area might not let you use it in that machine for whatever reason.

Since you can use same day 'past due' FPs, it's just easiest to gather all the FPs you want at the very beginning of the day and then go on the rides as you get to them.

The DVC FPs are different than the GAD ones. If the FP machines are closed, you can't get one with the DVC FP card. Same thing if all the FPs are gone for the day....with the GAD card you can get a FP, but with the DVC FP you can't do it...those are the rules.

I haven't ever gotten the FP from just seeing a guide or upon checkin. I did get them for attending a presentation though..one that had to be rsvp'ed to in advance. Not sure what the story isnow. I got mine last month, at BLT.

I should clarify my earlier post. We got our passes from an incentive they were offering from the Rochester, NY show they had. By signing a contract for AKV then, we were to be give the DVC Fast Passes. I've heard that they're also given out to some that go to a presentation. As of yet, they're not given to all members...but one can dream :rolleyes1

good cover!!!! :rotfl2:

We were given the fast pass cards when we toured BLT last March. We had to put them in the FP machine and got an immediate pass for the current time. There was no way to use it if the FP were gone for the day.

The beauty of these FP's is the instant use. We went to HS and wanted to ride Toy Story it was about 10 AM and return time for FP was 6:30 PM and we were pretty sure we would not be there then but we got FP's anyway just in case (it was our last day and FP expire) to my surprise I had a return time of 10:05!

Yes, that's the meaning of "instant" fast pass.

The Dvc fastpasses will work in the give a day FP machine. I have done it many times after all FPs are gone.

Yes, that's the meaning of "instant" fast pass.

When we got these fast passes they were given with the explanation "here are 3 fast passes per person for you to use over the next 4 day" Our guide never mentioned anything about "instant", thus we thought we just had 3 regular fast passes so we were thrilled since it was our last day.

We enjoyed the instant part as well. We also did it on our last full 2 days, so we knew we had 2 days to use them. I sure wish they'd give those out as a perk once in awhile! Maybe one 3 instant FP card per person booked in a villa each trip. Wouldn't that be nice?:thumbsup2 That is something that might have happened in the past, but for the past several years, they only give the fun perks like that to those who are prospective buyers or add-oners....No need to give things to those of us who have owned for years.

There are special FP machines at the attraction. All the machines will be covered except for that machine. That machine is yellow and blue if I am not mistaken. You get 3 fp access on each card.

When you receive one of the DVC FP cards from your guide - you'll see all of the rules of use are printed right on the back of the card. There are a number of attractions that are "blacklisted" or "not applicable" that are printed on the back of the card. (We were just there 2 weeks ago and our guide gave us some just because I called her in advance and said we'd be in FL and she hooked us up with some. I don't have the card in front of me, but do remember there were several listed out at the Studios that were basically N/A).

They are time sensitive cards, in that they are only valid for 4 days from the point of issue. Each card comes with 3 "instant" uses meaning you'll get a time to "return" right away (i.e. we used it at Soarin at 1 pm which had a regular FP return time of 7:45 pm and got a card that read return at 1:00 pm). If the regular FP's have already been exhausted for the day, then the cards won't be valid at that particular attraction and you'll need to choose something else. I can't personally say from my own experience whether they work in the Give a Day machines or not since I've never tried it, but others say they've had success with it, so you might be able to. It's certainly worth a try.

I have thought this same thing! What would it hurt to give dvc members these FP's upon check-in during every trip. Nice perk, cost them nothing and would go along way for customer satisfaction. We can always dream!:woohoo:

They do work. We did it last month. We were at HS and wanted to get on Toy Story Mania. The fast passes were gone and the machines were covered. The only machine operating was the special fp machine for DVC member fp cards. Inserted and got our tickets. No problem. They had a CM person standing there to let others know that the machine was for specific cards.:thumbsup2

Very good to know! Wish I'd known that when we got there and the FP's were all gone for the day. Oh well. There's always next time in December.
