Question for the women on this board...

i love skinny jeans. for some reason they don't look to bad on me. they don't make my hips look like five thousand times too big. for some reason. my jeans were a great steal. 20$ for a pair of Seven's. they're basically great because my dad is always complaining about how my long jeans get all wrecked from walking on them.

you got Seven's for $20?!?!!?!?!?

Yes, I did. my mother would have never bought them if they weren't.

Many girls want to be noticed... They do not understand that a guy will notice them if they do not dress like that. I do not dress like that I think that it is wrong. If I do dress like that and I am talking to a guy I do not fill that they are looking at me directly and taking in what I am saying I fill they are looking at my body and it makes me fill werid lol that they are not listening. I hope that society changes again and the skimper clothes will go away. Also it is now in every clothing store that they only have these types of clothing.

And another thing I do not understand (NO OFFENCE ANYONE) why must you buy a polo shirt with a moose on it for $50 when you can get a plain one for $15? And with ripped jeans, IF I was into them (which I am not) I wouldnt buy one of those $200 pairs, I would buy a nice $30-40 pair and cut holes in them myself. Lol.

I agree with the ripped jeans. My clothes get put through the ringer anyway, and I usually end up with holes in myjeans. If I bought them that way, they'd just fall apart.

I gotts agree with you on that.
I just get jeans and then make my own rips.
=/

i'm not allowed to buy them anyhow.
i just wait until i've got a couple of new pairs, take an hold pair & take the scissors to them. for instance, i have an old pair of jeans that were too loose through the thigh & looked like crap. so i made them into denim bermuda's and took the scissors for holes, and then sand paper to give them the more destroyed look.
i've only ever destroyed one pair of jeans by wearing them too much.

I believe that girls in high school are very self consious yet show themselves off alot. It might make them feel better.
Also I think it makes them believe they are getting noticed, getting attention, going to get a boyfriend, going to get popular by wearing these types of clothes.
Yes, I am a junior in Highschool. I'm overwieght for my height by about 15 pounds.. (which I don't think is such a bad thing.) but I also am 'gifted' up top.. ;) if you catch my drift.. Anywho. I'm not the girl in school wearing tight shirts, short shorts and micro mini skirts. I hate that I'm top heavy and try to conceal myself whenever I can. I feel bad seeing girls my age (or younger or even older) that wear such clothing. Obviously, they aren't happy with how they look so they feel they have to 'flaunt' what the have.

I wish parents would really pay attention to what clothing their teenager buys and wears. They make the difference, they have to put their foot down to obserd clothing.

To go with the ripped jeans and polos with logos on them.. I buy them, I must confess. But I don't feel I buy them for the wrong reasons. If I see something that I like, I'll usually show either a friend or even my mom most times before I buy something. I get their opinion then go foward with buying the item. I have bought AE ripped jeans and AE shirts. But hey.. if I like it enough to buy it, I'll wait until the clothes go on clearance before I do buy it. That way, I save money and still wear what I like. :thumbsup2

I HATE the ripped jeans look. I think it makes people look unkept and not gunna lie a little trashy.( no offense) I hate that I can't buy a decent pair of jeans that dont look distressed. I think it looks bad if you wear them with holes that are warn through and I think they look bad even if they were made that way. whats the point of wearing jeans if your just gunna put holes in them, it kind of defeats the point of covering your legs...But thats just my opinion.

That's one thing I've agreed with myself on. If my daughter ever comes home with that sort of clothing, I'm putting my foot down.

My school is obviously self conscious then. When my dad would drop me off when there was no band practice, he would go on a tirade about how parents could let their kids walk out of the house like that. I have a few shirts that I like a lot, and will wear those to school. Then my parents get mad at me. :teeth: The only thing is, the rest of my shirts are too small, or way too big for me. I guess I tend more to the preppy look at times, but usually I wear my shirts that I like.

Munky, I will burn those clothes when they cross my threshhold. Or at least return them to where they belong.

You and I both.

Oh and when I return them to where they belong, it'll be in a dumpster. :thumbsup2

I must confess that I do but the name brand clothes that cost more money (I shop at Abercrombie and Hollister). Not just saying this because I shop there but to me it seems like those clothes are better quality. I like them.

i dont really like ripped jeans when they have a lot of holes in them, but im ok with a couple. so many people are buying pants with holes that show underwear or worse and i really dont want to see that, thank you very much!!! :thumbsup2

I agree with many of you. As for myself, finding modest and decent clothing is like trying to find a small child in the World Showcase at Epcot. It is ridiculous.

I am not sure if I can speak for any guys or not... but if I was one, I'd be more drawn to girls who cover up. It just seems like there would be more appeal when there are still things left to be attained, if you catch my drift. Where is the excitement and pursuit if you've seen all there is to see?

Sorta the same reason you should be married before you cross physical boundaries... but that's a whole other thread, and some people might try to hunt me down... ;)

I've never seen that. I've only seen holes by the knees and lower.

I agree with Munky & Saxsoon. If I ever have a girl, or adopt one, I would throw the clothes away/burn them/cut them up. & maybe make the kid do chores to pay back the money that was spent. but that's a maybe.
