I believe that girls in high school are very self consious yet show themselves off alot. It might make them feel better.
Also I think it makes them believe they are getting noticed, getting attention, going to get a boyfriend, going to get popular by wearing these types of clothes.
Yes, I am a junior in Highschool. I'm overwieght for my height by about 15 pounds.. (which I don't think is such a bad thing.) but I also am 'gifted' up top..

if you catch my drift.. Anywho. I'm not the girl in school wearing tight shirts, short shorts and micro mini skirts. I hate that I'm top heavy and try to conceal myself whenever I can. I feel bad seeing girls my age (or younger or even older) that wear such clothing. Obviously, they aren't happy with how they look so they feel they have to 'flaunt' what the have.
I wish parents would really pay attention to what clothing their teenager buys and wears. They make the difference, they have to put their foot down to obserd clothing.
To go with the ripped jeans and polos with logos on them.. I buy them, I must confess. But I don't feel I buy them for the wrong reasons. If I see something that I like, I'll usually show either a friend or even my mom most times before I buy something. I get their opinion then go foward with buying the item. I have bought AE ripped jeans and AE shirts. But hey.. if I like it enough to buy it, I'll wait until the clothes go on clearance before I do buy it. That way, I save money and still wear what I like.
