Question for ebay sellers?

I recently listed a very few items (I think five) to sell. They were things that didn't fit anymore or things I bought on sale and if they sell, great. Mostly I'm not even looking at making money, just selling stuff for what I paid (they are NWT or NWOT items)

Anyways, I have one item which has a lot of people looking at. Over 50 at this point and it still have 3 days to go. The price is something I can live with. It's the only item which I have worn and I'm surprised it has this much interest.

My question after all this lol! I am getting quite a few emails on the one item which seems to be getting a lot of traffic. Will I ship it to Australia, or Canada?
Will I change it to a buy it now? One is an offer for less than I have it listed for. I am not really interested in shipping it to Australia or Canada. I don't want to change it to a buy in now and I definitely not interested in selling it for less than I have it listed for. How do you handle these inquires? Do you just ignore them or do you answer each poster? I don't want to be rude but I've said I will only ship within the US and I have a price that I am comfortable with.

The other question is about another item. Someone with a score of one asked me about another item I am selling. In fact it's the only one I really want to sell (a brand new pair of TOMS that I bought on sale and that don't fit). They wanted me for lower the price of the TOMS but I don't really want to encourage someone who has no history. Do I just ignore them?

This selling on ebay is a lot bigger pain than I thought.

If there is a lot of interest it means that it will likely create a bidding war.

I always responded to each request.

When I sold on eBay I would sell internationally, as there really isn't any more work involved and the customer paid the shipping charges.

I stopped selling because it was just too much work for very little reward ($$)

I do try to answer all questions, but for those kinds of things it's with a somewhat canned response. ie: Sorry, but I don't end auctions early, or sorry, but this auction does not include a best offer option, or I've made the decision not to ship overseas due to the prohibitively high costs involved in order to qualify for buyer/seller protection through e-bay/pp, etc.

I'll sometimes post answers to those kinds of questions for everyone to see as well. That tends to cut down on all the e-mails.

I'm a last minute bidder on e-bay, as are a lot of folks. If you've got that much interest in your auction I bet it sells, and for a higher price than any of the offers you're getting now.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the quick answers. I sent replies to the questions. Very short canned responses. I'm hoping things sell, going on vacation soon and this would give me a little mad money :)

I also never bid until the last moment either. I did research on the items I am selling and the prices are fair, if they want them they can bid. I did have one item and the girl emailed me that day I listed and wanted to buy it now. I did change that one because that is what that item sells for 99% of the time and she was really nice about it. She paid right away.
