Question: can I add dining plan on check-in day?

Will check in tomorrow at BLT but just realized that I forgot to add the dining plan. I understand we need to add it 48 hours prior to check-in according to DVC terms. My question is whether i can call the Member service tomorrow to add dining plan to my reservation. Thanks a lot,

I've never heard of it being allowed and I recall examples where it wasn't including where members had a split stay and added it but them the reservations were combined and MS canceled the DP. It never hurts to call and ask though.

I’ve personally witnessed someone add the dining plan at the check-in desk in BLT for a reservation that same day. It’s not supposed to work that way, but if you find someone who knows what they’re doing, anything is possible.

Since the DP makes Disney money, they will 'bend' the rules, profit is their priority.

So we had an issue last week where when we went to use our cc to purchase the dining plan 48hrs to check in , it wouldn't work...long story short the cc company screwed up and we had to get a new card. We called member services and explained the situation and they said they couldn't do anything but they will put a note on our reservation and we could ask consierge upon arrival. We had cc company send the new card to the resort (this was a pain in the you know what) and they were able to add it to our reservation by basically canceling and rebooking with the ddp. So short answer is yes they can. Weather or not they will is up to the resort.

Update - today is the check in day. I called MS at 9AM and a nice lady added the dining plan for me without any issue. Nothing about the 48 hours rule mentioned during the call.

Glad you were able to add the Dining Plan. I have been able to add it on my Check-In day (when I forgot to call earlier) as well.
