Does anyone know what the "white strips" are on the deckplans between rooms 6054/6056, 6554/6556, 6088/6090, 6588/6590, 7042/7044, 7076/7078, 7542/7544, 7576/7578, 8052/8054, and 8552/8554? Would this area cause noise (pipes, etc running up & down the ship)? Thanks!

Hi,
We were in 6590 in October, and I think the white stripe on the deck plans indicates an area where mechanics or wiring exist...I noticed that our ship's locker was flush against the wall, not indented as you see on the room plans in the brochure...in other words we did not have as much space between the locker and our bed as in the majority of rooms. We did not notice any noise, but when we rebooked for next October I made certain that I did not have a room adjacent to a stripe. Hope that helps. Also, I am toying with the idea of changing our reservation to lower costs...we have adjoining cat 7 rooms, 6140 and 6142, and I am thinking of moving to cat 9 on deck 2. We had a cat 6 last time and loved the verendah, but this time we're taking my mom and had to book two rooms. The cat 7 looked great, but the one thing I was worried about was that they appeared very dark on the Platinum Castaway website pictures...was this just a flash thing ? Anyway, if the rooms are dark I wouldn't mind skipping the verendah, because the large portholes look great...but on the other hand we spend quite a bit of time in our room...our son is autistic and he loves just hanging out. Any input ????????

I think that the white strip between 6088 and 6090 indicated the emergency fire doors. Not noisy at all.
