Hi folks!

I'm not exactly sure that this post belongs on this forum or not, but I'm going to give it a shot.

I'm taking my mom to WDW for her birthday in April and we're staying at AKL. We'll be checking in on her birthday and will be having dinner at Epcot that evening. I'd like to have a small cake delivered to our room while we are at Epcot that evening. I was told to use the WDW Florists. Has anyone used them before to have a birthday cake (or anything else) delivered to their room? What are the prices like? Any info you all could give me on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If this is the wrong forum for this post, my apologies.

Not sure if they deliver cakes, but the WDW Florist does do all kinds of baskets and flowers. You can call them at 407 827 3505. Their hours are M-F 8am to 5pm and S/S 9am to 5pm. Also you may want to check with the resort to see if you can arrange for a cake from the resturant.

Lastly -- tell Mom Happy B-Day from WDW.

When my daughter was in the WDW College Program last sememster I sent flowers for her birthday. She said they were beautiful, and that she had received alot of value for the money (we are cheapskates and discuss costs and value all the time so she knows what to look for!) The florist office was wonderful on the phone, and the flowers I chose were in a limited edition mickey etched vase, which is one on my daughters treasures. You cannot buy it anywhere else except from the florist shop there. She's back in college and I use the vase here at home for flowers.

I've also gotten flowers from the WDW florist, and they were gorgeous. They were very fresh, a week later they were still looking good! As far as the cake goes, I'm sure the florist could arrange this also.

They will not leave the cake and flowers in your room anymore. Now you need to call and have them delivered when you are there. In other words, they are left at the desk or wiht bell services, and a message is left on your phone. You call and they bring them up. THye are usually pretty quick, 5-10 minutes.

We were there in October for our anniversary. I sent DW a single rose and a basket. her comment about the rose was it was the single best rose she ever saw.

WDW Florist does a nice job!:)

I sent D/W a bouquet in a special 100 ann. vase on our last trip to WDW. OKW staff brought it up and put it in our room while we were at dinner. The flowers were GORGEOUS and the rewards exhausting:smooth:
But back to the flowers.....
They lasted all week in our room and then she packed up everything and we went on a 4 day cruise and they were sill in good shape. She hated to leave them:(
All in all a good value and a very happy wife !!!!!

I used the WDW Florist last week for gift baskets, they do a nice job. My only tip is do not have the flowers delivered on your arrival day, schedule your delivery for the second day. I had a Disney Basket of Cheer w/wine ordered for my mom and a Whale of a Pail for my son. My son received his the second day but not my mom. The florist said they were delivered to the resort together, it took 2 days for the resort to figure out that had happened. We were upgraded to suites upon check-in. Our gift baskets were sent to the originally assigned rooms. The folks who received my son's basket where kind enough to return it but the folks who received my mom's, kept it for themselves to enjoy. The resort did reorder another basket for my mom but by the time she received it, she only had a day to enjoy it

They do delivered them while you are out of your room.

Both of my sons have birthdays the week we will be there, and I'd like to do something special for them. Do you just call the WDW CRO?

Thanks,

I called WDW florist this past tuesday and had them fax over to me a list of choices for baskets and flowers. I am going with a basket for my 6 yr old nephew (his first WDW experience). I am looking at the list of add-ons and do not find a cake anywhere. But their is a spot to check that says "OTHERS, See special instructions for other request".

I would call them. Phone number is 407-827-9505 or their fax number is 407-827-4440. The lady I talked to on the phone was very helpful, and she mentioned they are brought up to your room for you on the day you pick. Last time I used them I did not have to call down to the desk. Maybe you have to do this at certain resorts?

PS....for those wanting to know the cost of the Disney Cheer basket (basket shaped Mickey Mouse:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ) $37.50.

Correction the phone number is (407) 827-3505 (8-238). The other number rings in a restroom! Here is some more info

We were at the GF in Jan. 02 I had ordered The Basket of Cheer and an arrangement of flowers for my mom. The basket was delivered to the room but there were no flowers. I had to call the florist and was told "oops no one made the flower arrangement!"

So much for a surprise for mom! We went out to eat and they were in the room when we came back. We were there for 11 days and most of the flowers were still beautiful on the last day.

My husband and I stayed at CSR in December and we each decided to surprise the other with a gift of some kind from the florist.

When we got to our room there was the gift bag that I had ordered for my DH. He was happy, but was also looking around the room. I asked him what he was looking for and he wouldn't tell me. Apparently, my flowers had not arrived.

DH spent an hour on and off the phone with the florist trying to get my flowers delivered. When they finally came, the flowers were beautiful but the service WAS NOT. Oh well!

They were never able to explain what the problem was and why one package was delivered and the other was not. STRANGE!!!

Anyway, the flowers were gorgeous and really held up the entire week. I, too, was sad to see my flowers go. All in all, the florist does good work!

Good luck!

Thanks for all the great replies and tips. I think I'll go with the flowers instead of the cake. (Need room for those Zebra Domes....LOL).

Again, thanks for the help all! :D :D

What is a WHALE OF A PAIL from the WDW florist ?
What does it contain for the kids ?
Thanks :)
