Question about Wallpaper

Can I apply wallpaper primer to new drywall? If yes, how long do I have to wait before the wallpaper can be put up?

Don't apply it to drywall without putting on a primer. We bought a house from someone who did that, and it was an absolute nightmare to remove! I do like wallpaper in limited doses, but it's going to eventually get worn or dated, and you WILL want to be able to take it down.

Make sure that it is not applied directly to drywall. At least prime the wall or paint the wall. I am getting to remove some wallpaper and the painter was VERY happy that it was not directly over the drywall. He said it would have ruined the drywall.

I have had my kitchen paper up for 10 years. I was very happy with it for 8 years. It was easy to clean and did not have ANY marks on it (and still doesn't). But it gets *dated* very fast and when you get sick of it, it happens in a big way.
