I just booked my 7 night Eastern cruise for Feb 5, 2005 and was assigned rooms 2078 for myself and my husband and room 2080 for my friend and her husband. Because our room assignment is in the "noisy rooms", I am very concerned. Does anyone know if upgrades are still given if you are traveling with friends? If anyone has any advice, please let me know!

TIA,

Upgrades are few and far between, so I would recommend booking the cabins you want now. Since you not cruising for almost a year, I would think that you should have a better choice of cabins. If you booked through a TA, have them call and get new cabins. If you booked directly through DCL, call them and find out what cabins are available in the category you want.

DU has the deck layout on their site at:

I agree, there should be plenty of other cabins left. Just call TA or DCL and they should be able to change them for you. There is no charge and it is simple, I did it on our sailing.

I agree. Definitely call and make the switch now while there are more cabins to choose from.

I would agree about changing your cabins now. I know it may seem like upgrades happen all the time, but they don't. We've done 4 DCL in the last 1 1/2 years and have never received an upgrade. My suggestion would be to book the cabins that you will be happy and go with that.
