We have 10 day PHP.
We are going to be in WDW for 12 days.
We are doing 10 days in parks (may seem a lot, but we are doing a slow and enjoy the resort as well trip).
Say we are doing parks first 5 days, then taking 2 days off, then parks for the next 5 days.
Can we go to waterpark on one of the 2 days off or will it count as used day on our passes?

The waterpark day will be separate from the 10 theme park days.

You have 10 separate calendar days in the major theme parks.
You also have 10 “entries” to the water parks, mini golf (before 4pm), and/or Oak Trail golf. These 10 can be on the same day you go to a theme park, or a different ent day. You may use more than 1 in any given day - such as a water park and mini golf - in any combination for 10 total during your visit.

I think this thread kinda answers my question, but posing for clarification:

We are considering a brief WDW trip in August.

I see I can buy a one-day park ticket for roughly $735 for the five of us. Separately, the water park ticket is $70/pp, or $361 after tax.

I could buy a one day admission plus water option ticket for roughly $1100. Or, a one day park hopper plus (which should get us water park admission) for $1187, or $87 more than buying together or a la carte.

My question is does the water park option or park hopper plus restrict water park use of this benefit to the same one day as my park ticket? I *feel* like the water park add on is allowed either on the day before or the day after the theme park use occurs, but it's not clear.

For these purposes, theme park visit/hopping would be on 8/3, with the desired water park visit on 8/4.

A one day ticket with water park is valid for the date you select plus the next day. In your scenario, select 8/3.

You can visit the parks in either order, i.e. water park on the first day and park on the second day, or park on the first day and water park on the second day.

"Your tickets are valid for admission to one theme park on any one day from Aug 3, 2022 through Aug 4, 2022, subject to park reservation availability. Your ticket also provides one visit to a water park or other Walt Disney World fun during the same date range. Tickets are nonrefundable."

I do best looking at price per person, then you can multiply by how many in your party :
  • A 1-day 1-park ticket on 8/3/22 is $139; valid only 8/3
  • Add hopping to that for $65, making the theme park ticket $204; valid only 8/3
  • If you will definitely want hopping, add the waterpark option for just another $20, total $224; this ticket is valid 8/3 and 8/4, use the theme park and water park entry is any order.
  • If you don't want hopping, the single-day theme park plus water park option is $209 (actually costs $1 more than purchasing separately at $139 + $69); valid 8/3 and 8/4, use in any order on those dates
Add tax to any of the above.

A 10-day pass is valid for 14 days.
10 park days
10 extra activities

You can use the pass every single day of the 14 days.

Every day you enter the parks, one day of that is used.
Every time you use an activity (Golf, Water park, etc) one item of that is used up.

You can use the park days on different days as the activity days, or the same days.

So, yes, you can use the park 5 days in a row, then water parks/golf the next 2 days, then go back to the parks for 5 days in a row. Your ticket will then have 2 days left where you have up to 8 activities (golf/waterparks) you can still do. But the park days have been used up.

And yes, you can go to the parks in the morning, then go to a waterpark in the afternoon, and 1 of each item will be used that one day.
