This is probably something that has been asked before and I apologize for it but does any one know that cost per day of the Deluxe plan for adults and children (8 year old). This is for the 2008 plan. I know the regular plan is $37.99. I am trying to figure the cost difference of the 2 but I almost certain that the Deluxe plan will be more benefical to my families needs. I figure that I dont have to worry about ANY food with the Deluxe plan. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Not sure why the thumbs down is on my message. Sorry about that!

Deluxe plan cost 69.99 per adult per day and 19.99 per child 3-9 per day. You get your choice of 3 sit down meal(Can be exchanged for counter), 2 snacks and refillable mug per person.

Yes. As indicated in pkf4bucs' post, The Dining Plan will cost $37.99 in 2008. In addition to that, Disney is introducing the Deluxe Dining Plan as described in Luv2Trav's post.

WOW! $70.00 worth of food per day per adult. Thanks for the info! I dont know if either one of us can put down that amount of food per day. $20.00 for my 8 year old is something that I know that can be reached with breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 snacks. Thats an average of $4.00 per order/item. Hmmmm....and the adult plan is an average of $14 per order/item. No doubt we would lose money but we dont go as often as alot of people so I may just pony up the cash. Sorry for the ramblings......thinking out loud. Thanks again!

:rotfl2: It's sort of like the Seinfeld episode where Uncle Leo's eyebrows were shaved off. To help him out, someone painted eyebrows on his face, but they were arched in such a way as to make him appear constantly angry. No matter how calmly he would talk to people, they kept telling him to not be so angry. :lmao:

The child's cost is one of the reasons we are seriously considering it. If you think about it it's 19.99 per child.... 3 character meals would cost between 30.00-40.00 for the day... This doesn't include the 2 snacks either. So for the children it's significant savings.

3 adult character meals would be over $70 too - regular menu sit down meals would be even more. Remember you still get an appetizer with deluxe. Here's an easy example without even 3 character meals for an adult - character breakfast $20, CS lunch $10 (although maybe more), would mean $40 for a TS dinner, which really isn't that hard to do at Disney (someone recently posted LeCellier was well over $100 for 2 people). Plus you've got 2 snacks.

I was going to upgrade to the dlxDDP on our next free dining trip. Then I looked at how we will really eat. Most days we would not use two TS unless one is a breakfast. I decided for the price I could just eat like we did last year and add a couple TS breakfasts OOP and still come out cheaper than the upgrade. So unless I rearrange some and eat more CS it is not a better deal for my family.
