Question about the Beach Club

My wife and I just agreed to a Wilderness Lodge Villa contract, we based our contract location basically on the proximity to the Magic Kingdom.... Looking at the forums and TSS it seems that the Beach Club is very popular...What gives?

Like you, we love the Villas at the Wilderness lodge and have young kids. We came 'this close' to buying a VWL contract...but at the last minute we changed to BCV. Why?

1 - We realized that we only had five or so years with the Magic Kingdom being the most important park. After that, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Stormalong Bay (the Beach Club's pool) will become more and more important to them. And once they have 'flown the coop' I can see us enjoying EPCOT and SAB much more than MK.

2 - While our kids are young we are willing to pull them from school to go during late January or February. During the off season we've had good luck in booking the Villas at the Wilderness lodge at 7 months (and for low point totals).

3. As they grow older we'll be more restricted to going during their 'real' vacations - Spring Break and Summer. We'll care more about the pool as we visit in spring and summer. And the 11 month reservation window will matter rather a lot more if we are constrained to peak vacation times. (And as they build more and more resorts I fear getting into BCV at 7 months will become more and more difficult).

All that said...we really do love the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. You can't go wrong with either choice.
