Question about t-shirts

I am still fairly new to all of this so am still learning I am wondering what type of shirt is best to use? I've just checked out some shirt sites as suggested (www.jiffyshirts.com) but am confused with all of the options.... Do I use 100% cotton, 50/50 Cotton/Poly..... please help!!!

You can get either. If you look at the information on the transfers they say to use either 100% cotton or 50/50. Hope this helps!

I've used both and so far, we'll see this next week, nothing has happened

Do you wash your shirts in a specail way before ironing on the transfers? There use to be some instructions somewhere her, but the search isn't working.

Thanks for help/ or link to How To Print and ect... (Yes, I've ready the instructions, but I could swear you kind folks here on the board included more steps than the instructions from the transfers.)
