We will be taking our second Disney Cruise on April 19, 2019. When checking the DCL site, I see that my booking window opens Feb 3, this is the same day that my 2 daughters window opens and it is their first cruise. I thought I would have silver status after my first cruise and my window would open sooner?

I’m going to try my best as to what I remember.

If they’re going on the cruise with you and you are Silver:
The person in the stateroom with the highest rank (for lack of a better term) which would be you is the time that everyone’s booking window opens for that room.

Make sense?

Correct. Everyone in the cabin books at the booking window of the highest Castaway Club member in that cabin.

(Which is why many people will split family members between cabins in order to get everyone early booking, or to get everyone the free Palo meal for Platinum, etc. and then move people into the "correct" cabin for sleeping.)

First time Disney cruisers booking window opens at 75 days prior to cruise.
Silver Castaway Club level booking window opens at 90 days prior to cruise.

If all of you are in the same room onboard, the booking window will open based on the highest CC level in the room.

You'll have to call DCL and provide them with your Castaway Club # so that they can update your status, which should update your check in/activity booking window date. Should be pretty quick and painless to do this. Good that you caught it now!

In addition to your daughters being able to schedule shore excursions the same day as you, using your silver status, when your family checks in at the cruise terminal, your DD's will get silver CC lanyards, even tho it's their first cruise. One of the perks of traveling with you and your silver status.

Not necessarily. On our first family cruise, my sister was silver because she had cruised DCL before. Only she was given a lanyard at check-in. (And we were staying Concierge because for some reason that's what my dad booked.) So I would not count on them being given lanyards and count it as a bonus if they are.

The real question that - at least to me - was not clear in the OP's post is if the 2 daughters are in a separate cabin than her. If they are in a separate cabin, then she should call and make sure that her Castaway number is applied to her cabin correctly. If they are in the same cabin as her, it's a moot point because as has been said, everyone in the cabin shares the highest status.

This was my thought as well.

Same cabin -- not a problem.

Separate cabin -- OP needs to call DCL to get their CC status corrected.

OP - enjoy your cruise!

Sounds like it's at the discretion of the cast member doing the check-in. My son received a lanyard on his first cruise because his kids had cruised before, so everyone in the room was treated as silver.

Yes call, your booking window should open in January. Looks like it is currently at 75 days prior.

Have you finished your first cruise yet? As in, maybe it's still in the future and you have a 2nd booked? Status doesn't kick in until after your first cruise.

Based on the math - April 19th cruise, Feb 3 booking window - that's 75 days. It means they haven't registered your silver status. Did you book yourself or use an agent? I'd call the agent asap if you used one or dcl directly if you booked and get it straightened out.

This didn't happen for us. I got a gold, others got silver. Can't imagine anything would be left to the discretion of a CM at check-in!

So for clarification- we have to call Disney Cruise line to make sure our CC membership number is applied to our account? We are taking our second cruise in June and want to make sure we have the 90 day window. We have a princess who wants to do the princess tea party and I don’t want to miss out.

It should automatically apply your number when you enter your information (when I took my parents on a cruise a couple of years ago, I had their numbers, but it seemed that as soon as I entered their information they popped up and I did not need to enter them). But if it does not, you'd need to call.

No, you don't have to call to confirm. Just take a look at your account on the DCL website. If the information there is incorrect, then you call to fix it.

Not necessarily. When you booked it (the cruise in June) your CC number would have already been noted in your reservation as it is attached to your name, address and first sail date.

The only difference might have been if you booked it from a TA who did NOT know that you had already taken a cruise and so you would be considered a new cruiser and the June cruise would count as your first.

You can go to the DCL website and click on the Castaway Club tab to sign in and make sure that your first cruise date was noted by DCL.
If you don't see it there, THEN call DCL and they can look it up for you and see what the issue might be. Your Castaway club sign in info is the same as your sign in for any Disney account you have including My Disney Cruise.

DCL is closed Thanksgiving Day, but they will re open Friday AM at 8:00

I don't know how/why my son managed to get a lanyard on his first cruise (his kids' 2nd cruise.) Actually I wish he hadn't received one, because he hadn't earned it.
