question about signing contract

Now that I've received all of the appropriate DVC papers, I'm curious as to why our guide said we need to schedule a closing and come into the Doorway to Dreams store near us. The paperwork seems to pretty plainly indicate that all of the paperwork could simply be sent by the included pre-paid FedEX envelope.

Is it necessary to go in the store? Are there upsides/downsides to doing so?

We have mailed all of our contracts. Maybe he wants to make sure that you close so he can get paid? I would give him a call and ask him.

We also signed our papers at home and mailed them back. We didn't have to go anywhere for the closing.

Did you initiate your process at the Doorway to Dreams store? Even so I can't figure out why it would necessary for you to go back to the store for closing. Maybe for a gift? If they sent you a Fed ex envelope I would think you could just mail everything back.
