Hello,

My parents have a *** timeshare in ******** that they'd would like to sell. We were wondering if anyone knew the best website to sell it on, and any tips on how to make the sale. This is the first time my parents are trying to sell a timeshare, and thought we would come here for some info.

If any experts could give me a close estimate of to how much it would be worth, its a ***, silver season floating week, ***.

Thanks

I would check out the TUG website for more info, it is a group of timeshare owners.

Most timeshares, if purchased directly from the developer, are worth pennies on the dollar resale, unless that developer artificially has price supports, similar to DVC's Right of First Refusal, or is a particularly popular property with great trading power through II or RCI.

I would contact a reputable timeseller resale agent, but do not go with one that requires some sort of pre-paid fee to list your resale.

I am editing your post to remove the specific resort and room size, listing such info can be construed as a "for sale post" and is not allowed on these boards.

TUG, redweeks, bidshares, ebay all come to mind. Keep in mind that most timeshares are worth pennies on the dollar compared to the purchase price even if owned for a long time. Most with a loan are worth less, often far less, than is owed. There certainly are exceptions (DVC, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc) but even then it depends on specifics. The most important things are figuring out what it's really worth, not what was paid or what a salesperson said or even what prices you see listed on the above sites. And they need to be realistic. Many timeshare weeks aren't even worth giving it to someone else to pay the fees.
