Ok I just booked my "room only" through WDW online packages... I'm hopeing to get one of those cool codes to use for my Jan 28-Feb 3rd vacation... My question is, say a code comes out.. I call and tell them the code and they do what they do.... when I call can I go ahead and upgrade my package and add the park tickets? The reason I'm wondering is because I plan on using my new Disney Visa to pay my whole trip on and you have to charge the "whole" vacation at once, no deposit...

someone help? I'm thinking when a code comes out I'm going to have to call and cancel the room only then upgrade it with the code and my tickets? A little :confused3

Thanks
Jaime

I'm not sure, but I think you'll have to cancel, in order to get the 6 months financing. That could be tricky as only a certain number of rooms are alloted for codes. Take the newest one for example, almost nothing was available for the deluxes.

So I say go ahead and book since we never know what will happen, and then play it by ear. Just don't cancel the first reservation til you have the one you want.

I can't really answer your question. However, if you booked online, you do not have a room only ressie. All online bookings are packages, even if you only have a room reserved. The big difference here is that with a room only ressie made through CRO, you can cancel up to 6 days beforehand with no penalty. You also do not have to pay up until your arrival.

well they actually have an option that says "room only".... so what I should do is when a code comes my way (if it does) just call and make another ressie (go ahead and do the WHOLE package deal I want) then say I want to cancel this "other" ressie that I made (which i can do up to six days)... or I could just ask the person on the phone "what do I do?" and see what they think would be easier...

*thanks guys

Hey Jaime-
If/when a code comes out, I'd call CRO and tell then exactly what you want to do. That way, they can check and make sure what you want is available under that code (resort, room type, dates etc) before you officially cancel your room-only res. I'm sure people do this all the time, so CRO should tell you the best/easiest way to do it.

So where did you guys decide to stay? I'm seriously crossing my fingers for some cool package deals! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We are going to stay at the All Star Movies... I had it first at Pop but when I went to book it said something about "something on your itinery is not avaible, please start your package" the only thing that could had been not be open is the resort for those dates, I mean it was a room only... no big deal though, I think we'll rather the smaller resort as to the big resort of POP, I still could change it down the road...

SO all I do is wait until a code comes out (if it does) then call CRO (which would be where I have my ressies at right now? sorry not that familiar with the code language here, cro) and book my vacation package, make sure I tell them I want to use the code AND put it ALL on my visa so I can get teh no interest thingy... then once that's done just say "oh and I'll like to cancel so and so"... but if there is'nt anything open when I call to do the code I can always tell them I have another ressie, just add the code and do all that other stuff I want.

Now if only I could find some good flights... It'll cost me at least 250 to drive there and back... should go ahead and fly.. just nothing is coming down in prices. tsk

Thanks!
Jaime

oh one more thing... i noticed in the book store this weekend that in one of the disney books guides (his name begans with a B) anyways there was a coupon for 20% off my stay for the dates of my trip, which could be the new code? That would save me 100 dollars, but I guess the new code could also be an upgrade to the free dinner plan huh? WISH we could find out!
Jaime

Do you know the name of the book? Also, can you tell me exactly what the coupon says????? Please pm me if this is something that should not be on an open forum, but I can't see why it couldn't be.
Thank you

Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2006 (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World)

it said 10% off some dates (can't remember which dates) and 20% off some other dates, you can go to your book store and look at it, I think the code was BJB but I'm NOT sure... anyways, it just says call, make your ressies and tell them you have the coupon... I'm thinking about ordering the book online, I saw it for 12 dollars, 16 at my book store. Even if I dont get to use the code, it looks like a really cool book.

Hope that helps!
Jaime

I can't remember if it said it had to be a value resort or not.

I just called disney and got the nicest cm. He spent about 20 minutes trying to find this code but had no luck at all. First he looked it up by the code (not using dates, no luck) and then he tried by using my dates and then looking it up.

Perhaps someone else could try and then report back. :confused3

Tomorrow I am going to try and find the book at a local bookstore to see if my dates are even applicable (Dec 31, Jan 1-8).
Thank you
Suzy V.

I've posted this elsewhere. I've got the new book and the code is for Vero Beach and Hilton Head ONLY (neither are in WDW). Doesn't work at the other resorts.
