Question about Renting in May

I've never rented before and was wondering if any of you had any feedback regarding rental dates, I've been on the Rent/Trade board and have discovered there's nothing available in the way of a studio for March or April, I was wondering if 1st week in May would be any better? I'm pregnant and really can't travel past that time, but my little one really wants to go. It's hard to get members to keep checking on dates for you, so I was wondering if any DVC'ers who are familiar with the seasons know if I should even bother to inquire about this time. Our priority resorts are AKL and WLV, the others don't interest us too much.

Any feedback would be SOOOO appreciated.

First of all, don't go into renting expecting to get a specific room size and location and keep having folks check for you. Availability changes by the minute, so if something is available now, it wont likely be there in 10 minutes. Instead, pick a person to rent from...One whos contract and policy you can accept, and go from there letting them work with you to find the right match. It might mean having the member on the line with Member Services while they have you on a cell phone line or something, so you can say yes or no to whatever might be available for certain dates. This is late in terms of DVC to be looking for a studio sized villa less than 3 months out. If you further limit by wanting only a studio in one of the two smalles DVC resorts, you will likely be disappointed. Open your search up to ANY studio, and I'll bet you will get something. I think this "double call" method is about the only way to secure something at this late date.
