Question about RCI exchange for DVC property

I am so happy that I ended up getting a one bedroom villa through RCI at Boardwalk for the dates I wanted! Now I am on the hunt to get a studio to hopefully get them next door to each other. Here is my question:

With my RCI guest cert, I am allowed to call and make my own DME and DDP. If I rent points from a DVC member to get the studio for my parents, does the owner have to set up the DME and DDP or can I do that myself as well? I have heard that the owner has to do it for you and I don't understand why that would be since I can do it for RCI. What's the reasoning? I don't actually care only that it would be easier on the DVC owner to not have to do it. Thank you again!

For the studio, the owner would have to do so for a rental. Can you just put them on your 1 BR and do it all together?

they just have their own stuff separate from us. It would be easier to keep track of the $$.

True but it will be more difficult and complicated on the front side. It seemed you wanted control over that process which you won't have with a rental. But what you could do with them being separate is get different plans.

Just clarifying: The owner has to make the DME arrangements and also has to add the DP to the rental reservation. The renters pay for their DP at check in. But you or the renters will need to make the ADRs, the owner doesn't need to (and probably won't even want to) make those for you.

them all for 6 people. The owner I am renting from said she will add the DDP for me when I am sure I want it and DVC said I can add it myself on the RCI one once I have the actual reservation number. Thanks all!
