Question About Rate at Check In

We are thinking of going back to WDW in February of 2005 with our two daughters. My question is...

If the dates of my stay overlap "seasons" do I get the rate of the season when I check in or will they switch it when the new season begins?

For example...

We arrive at Wilderness Lodge on 2/16 which is value season. Peak season begins on the 17th. Will I get the value season rate for my entire stay?

Thanks for your help!

This will need clarifying as I am not 100% sure, but I think your room rate will change as the season changes from value to peak.

Actually, the rate you have on the first day of your stay, is the rate for your entire stay. If you start out in Peak, you pay Peak rates, if you start in Value, you pay Value rates for your stay.

This is correct. That makes it beneficial to check in during Value Season - if you check in during regular or peak season and it changes to value season, you should make 2 reservations to get the lower rate.

I don't know the answer to your post but I just wanted to say HI!

I'm a Lilysmom too!

Well actually Lilly with two L's short for Lillian.

I just love that name of course.

As we say at home "Hurray for Lilly"!

When the seasons overlap, you actually get charged the applicable rate for each season. Only Disney could get away with this. The price we pay for magic...::MickeyMo

We have always been charged the rate of our check in date for the entire stay.

It is the rate upon checkin, they do not change your rate unless you check out and check back into somewhere else, but as long as you stay in 1 place you'll be fine

The rate you have for arrival day will carry through your entire stay.

Yep, the rate at the beginning of your stay is what you pay all the way through. We booked the 7/5 from 9/28 to 10/5, and I think 9/30 is when it changes from value to regular season. Our price is 1302.55 (value resort), which is the same as a value resort for 5 nights during value season.

yes you pay the rate you checked in with. This is also stated in a few of the guide books.

Thanks guys!

Lily is a Lillian too! We just drp one of the "L's" when we call her Lily. :wave2:

On the same topic, if you overlap the other way, peak to value. To save some money, make 2 reservations. One for the peak time then another for the value time. This could save you some $$ depending on how long you stay and where it could be hundreds.

It is whatever rate you check in with.

Our honeymoon starts in Regular Season (July 4) and switches to Value Season (July 5-10). So, we made a reservation just for the 4th (at a higher rate) and then a second reservation for the 5th-10th (at a lower rate). The CM didn't believe me so she did the reservation both ways, one reservation for the whole trip and one with the two reservations and it came out cheaper to do it with two reservations. She was surprised and commented "you learn something new every day". Hope this helps.
