Question about pre-booking things?

Hi all!

We're sailing in Oct on the Magic. I put this sailing on the back burner for a while and we actually thought we might not keep it. Now we've decided we will (yay!) and I'm starting to research some stuff. We last cruised on DCL 4yrs ago so I feel like stuff has changed..

I'm seeing something about booking the character breakfast in advance? Last time it was included and already scheduled for us. I'm also seeing things about tickets for character meets?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Or anything else I need to pre-plan?

Thanks so much!

In addition to adult dining, spa services and port excursions, you're now able to book some other elements ahead of time. Some of these include character breakfast and meet and greets.

Yes, in the past, on those cruises that were 7 nights and longer, with at least 3 sea days, you were assigned to a specific Character Breakfast.

That's changed now. The breakfast is still only on those cruises that are 7 nights and longer, but you get tickets for it. You can pre-reserve tickets online when your excursion booking window opens, or, if there's still availability, get them onboard.

The character meet & greets that you can pre-book are the Princess Gathering and Frozen (Anna, Elsa, Olaf). All other character meets are just line up at the appointed times for them.

I was also curious about this. Do you have to get tickets for other characters besides anna and Elsa? Seems I have been reading a lot about stopping at guest services to get tickets. I am a first time cruiser. Any help would be appreciated.

No, only the Frozen meet & greet and Princess Gathering require tickets. All other meet & greets are standard "wait in line" locations.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was wondering! Can you book both the princess and Frozen or only one? And if you don't pre-book does that mean you won't get to meet them? Does the whole cabin HAVE to do it (I have a 10yr old boy...he's usually a good sport but if he could avoid it he'd be happier lol).

Is this it with what I have to pre-book? Nothing has changed about pirate night? Our cruise is Halloween at Sea so I'm wondering if there is anything with that I need to book too.

Thanks so much. I appreciate it

You can pre-book one of each type (1 Princess Gathering, 1 Frozen). Once onboard, if there's availability, you can get more.

I don't know for sure if the "sell out" of all the tickets by pre-booking, but I believe they also have tickets available onboard.

The whole room doesn't have to go. Only those who want to.

No pre-booking for Pirate or Halloween activities (at this time).

Only the people you select will be included, so your son doesn't have to do it. You book everything online. You select the day you want and then it's under onboard fun. You can only prebook the princess and frozen meet and greets and the character breakfast. Nothing to book with the Halloween at Sea or pirate night. Pirate night is still as usual.

Is it still midnight when booking windows open? Wondering if it has changed to 7am like the Fastpass system has.

You could always include your son when you pre-book. If he decides that he wants to stay with the family, he will be included on the ticket. If he decides to do something else, then he isn't required to go with you. There is no cost to these tickets, so there is no penalty if not everyone show up.

Piggybacking -

Is there somewhere I can see what is/will be available on MY SPECIFIC cruise before I'm able to book online? Disney keeps sending me emails about "planning" my trip, but it takes me to a page that then tells me I can't do anything until a certain date!! It's only 5 days so I assume no character meals. I don't want fancy food. I don't need princesses. Is Olaf always with the Frozen folks because I may need that one then...So really, I don't think it's anything urgent in my circumstances, but I'd like to know just the same!!

Also, once my cruise is available for online checkin will the schedules be there - like which night is Halloween festivities for example (I'm on the Oct 2 out of NYC if anyone cares)?

You can't see before booking, but if others are ahead of you say at 120 days they can.
Be in a cruise meets group, we shared ours, so at 120 days I took screen shots of the port trips, and adults meals and shared them with cruisers yet to have their window open.

How do you find cruise meets?

we're sailing from NY on 10/7. :) I need to get on this planning stuff since I feel very behind -esp with how on top of WDW planning I am (we just got back a week ago haha)

Piggybacking also (!)

Just hit the 120 day window today (for our 1st cruise:dogdance:). I booked a port excursion and the Princess meet & greet. Doesn't let me pick Frozen and no message why, so I thought i maxed out at 1 but it may just be unavailable. gotta luv Disney tech!

My question is re: the port excursion $$ . It is "confirmed" and shows up on that day, but not under "all days" and no longer in my cart. When do I pay for it? On my account settled on ship? I would feel safer if it was charged now and I know it is really reserved...
