Question about points at OKW

Say we had 75 points rented, can we use that for 2 different studios for the same dates? We want to go with my parents and figured it would be better to have 2 studios instead of a 1 BR for the same points.

The person you rent the points from would have to make the reservation for you at the studios, one bedroom whatever. You are renting points for a particular reservation, the points can not be used any other way.

Actually, the points are worthless to you if you are not a member. You are really renting a reservation made in your name from the member. You have no control over the reservation. It still belongs to the member and they could change it at any time. However, in the name of good will and ethics, I doubt if they would cancel it or rent it out to someone else if they have already taken money from you for the reservation.

Two studios could be more expensive than a one bedroom villa. The member could charge you a "change fee" to make the changes if they wanted to as well as a charge for additional cost for the reservation. If you have a contract signed with them, read it over to see what they say about changes.

The two studios may not even be available at this point, depending on the dates of the current reservation.

As a renter, you do not have "ultimate control" but you can make changes up until 30 days prior to first date of arrival. After that, the DVC member forfeits points when making changes within the 30 day mark.

I prefer the one bedroom to 2 studios. First: you don't know if they will be near each other, you do not have the two person jacuzzi and you do not have the grand space of the 1 bedroom. The only downfall to the one bedroom is if the bedroom group gets up earlier than the "pull out couch group" they will have to tip toe!
