Question about park hopper passes

If you get the tickets and opt out of the "no expiration" option, how does that work?

Like say I bought a 5 day hopper... do you have to use them 5 consecutive days? If not, how long do you have to use them?

Also, our trip isn't until October, so could I buy them now or are they only good for a certain amount of time after you buy them?

You can buy them now and use them in TEN years if you'd like! But once you use them at a theme park, the clock starts ticking. The first use is day #1, and you have 14 days to use all of your hopper days.
