We are heading to our first trip home to BLT in two weeks. Is it worth doing on-line check-in in advance?
Does anyone know the advantages or disadvantages to doing so?
I've only done the online check in once, and for us, it didn't work out so well at Kidani village. There was only one line, and we watched several people go through the normal line much quicker. (If I remember correctly from our BLT trip, there were many cast members checking people in, but only one online check in line there too). Here were some other issues we encountered.
1) When we did the online check-in, I added our credit card number to have on file. Little did I know that they would go ahead and charge our dining plan to our credit card. We had split families paying, and were using gift cards to pay for the dining plan, so they had to refund the credit card, and apply the gift cards.
2) We also had to have them re-issue our room keys as we only wanted charging privileges on 2 of the 5 room cards.
3) I know getting a room early is no guarantee, but despite doing the online check in at the 10 day mark, and checking in around 11am, we still didn't get a room until around 4:15.
4) After waiting in the online check in line, and spending all the time getting things straightened out, we still had to then move to the concierge desk to have our pre-purchased tickets added to our room key.
If you do the online check in, hopefully you have better luck and timing than we did.
