Question about non-expiring tickets......

I have searched Disneyworld.com and can't seem to find the answer to my questions, so I was hoping someone of the Disboards could help me.

We purchased 10-day theme park tickets as part of our package (room/tickets) for our trip next month. We are planning to upgrade them (when we arrive in WDW) to have the PH&WPF option and know it will cost an additional $344.00 (for all four tickets).

We are considering purchasing the non-expiring option for the tickets, but I can't seem to find what the additional cost would be to do that??? Can anyone help me? Also, just to confirm we can make that change when we arrive for our trip?

Thank you! :)

I'm thinking that it's right around $350 for each ticket.

It's generally only worth it if that ticket will completely cover 3 or more trips.

Here is a price chart from All Ears: http://allears.net/pl/ticketchart.htm . Your current 10-day base tickets are $337 each. If you add park hopping and water parks they would be $468. If you add the non-expiring option to those tickets they would be $830.

It depends on the length of the tickets. With tax on a 10 day, it's $362.10 additional. Seems expensive.

we bought them from UCT with the mousesavers code and will use the 10 day park hopper Water park more for 3 yearly trips, possibly even have leftover fun options for the 4th years trip. At least our tickets are locked in and paid for, before any price increases over the next 3 years. 768.53 per adult.

I wish this was a feasible option for us, but the way we do WDW it doesn't seem like it is. Our typical trip is 11 days and 10 nights and we use 8,9 or ten days of the tickets. This time, I was thinking we could use 8 days of tickets, and 2 days of Water Parks/Disney Quest. So I was hoping it would be economical to use the other two park days and then 8 days of waterparks, DisneyQuest next summer. But - sounds like that is definitely not the case.

So instead we will use the full ten days of our tickets this trip and also try out the waterparks and DisneyQuest (we have never done them before).

I continue to look for ways to save some money off our WDW vacations.....and alas, the savings always elude us. LOL

We debated upgrading to non expiration option on our last trip (7 day base; we were planning to upgrade to 10 day WFPH NE) but wasn't worth it since we ended up using 6 days instead of originally planned 3 days. As PP suggested if you can stretch the tickets to 3 trips over multiple years it may make financial sense since there is a big $$ increase between 2-3 day tickets vs longer days and ticket price increases; otherwise it's not really cost effective. If you are planning multiple trips in one year you might consider AP upgrade instead.

Agree! we do generally an 8/9 day trip every spring.... our week never lines up enough to do an AP. We also have been going to Disney every year for the last 17 years, we decided this past April we do not need to hit the parks for 7 full days, and maybe try to do more things at whatever resort we stay at. So for us this option will give us tickets for the next 3 possibly 4 years. Everyone has to do the Disney Math and see what's the best fit for their family at the time. Good Luck and have fun planning!:flower3:

Well, I see a theme in your signature: "April 2012 April 2013 ~ April 2014". If you hae to do the exact same week each April, and that continues, this won't work, but if each two year period you're able to move the second trip inside the timespan of an Annual Pass, you could do two trips on that AP. So if April 2015 is the 10th-20th, the next year could be 1st to 10th and you'd get both trips on that one AP. Then for 2017 you just buy a new AP (NOT renewal because a renewal would have the expiration date of the 10th still), pick your dates for that year, then do 2018's trip so it ends on the last day of the AP again.

Could help somewhat!

Yes, the bummer is we should have planned better when we there a few months ago and bought APs then. But, at the time we didn't intend to go back again next month. That was a "last minute" decision about a month ago. So know we have bought TWO sets (family of 4) 10-day tickets, one set being a PH&WPF set. We basically could have already covered APs.

This is why my husbands says he thinks I will ask to pay full price for something that is on sale....so not a bargain shopper. LOL

Then buy the APs now and have them for NEXT April. A premium AP is $803 and you'll get at least 2 trips out of it.
