Question about new premium pass

I received the new premium pass in the mail as I hold current passes for both DLR and WDW.

The DLR pass is the deluxe with some blackout dates and expires this July.

The WDW is a regular no blackout pass that expires this Sept.

I know that my passes now expire in Sept but do the blackout dates at DLR still hold?

So they just sent you a Premier pass? You didn't buy it?

They weren't supposed to do that unless you had a Premium pass to both parks. Sounds like they made a pretty big mistake, if you had the deluxe and a normal AP (vs the PAP) to WDW.

The Premier Pass doesn't have any blackout dates.

I just had regular passes to both parks. And yes, it just appeared in the mail one day with a letter saying I needed to bring both my current passes when I next went to WDW/DLR and go to guest relations to activate the new pass.

We are typically AP for Disneyland, except this past year we haven't had an AP becuase of all the construction.

However, we're doing a (at least) 7-day trip to WDW this winter, and will probably purchase at least a 5-day park-hopper pass.

We're trying to decide whether it's worth it, on balance, to buy the Premier Pass.

Anyone have any advice?

Anyone who had any pass to both DL and WDW (except the one for evenings at Epcot) was sent a Premier Pass with an expiration date for the later of the 2 passes.

The Premier Pass should have the same benefits as a DL Premium Pass...so no blackout days!

The info from their blog when it was announced said that it would be sent to those with Premium passes to both places. Is that not how it ended up working?

Disney sent anyone who had any type of AP for both parks (Excluding the Epcot after 4 pm pass) a Premier Pass. That included So Cal AP's. And as noted, the expiration date is the same as the latest expiration date on either of the two AP's. The Premier Passport has all of the same perks and discounts as the premium pass at each park. (so no block out dates! :) )

This is probably why they didn't announce it in advance, so folks didn't run out to buy a SoCal Select pass before March 1st if they already held a WDW AP.

Nope, that was the big to-do! Those with WDW APs and SoCal APs got a major upgrade for free!!!

Was there a window of dates for having both passes to get the Premium? My friends have WDW passes (purchased last December) and DLR passes (expired in March and re-newed May 2). They didn't get the new Premium.

You needed to have both as of March 11th when they went on sale.
