Question About Multi-Day Pass

Hi all!

I just purchased two 4 Day One-Park per Day tickets.
I didn't choose Parkhopper multi-day passes because I have flat feet and going between the two parks would be a little too much for my soles, boo, I know :(

In 2016 I went with 3 Day One Park per Day, spent 2 days in DL and 1 in DCA.
I feel like I want to dedicate more time to lounge around, have some booze and soak in the atmosphere at DCA this time, but DL has so much to explore too, so I don't know if 2 days dedicated to DCA is too much?

I wanted to ask:
  • if you are allowed to upgrade 1 day only of my multi-day ticket into a Parkhopper?
  • How would YOU divide up the time between the two parks?
  • (How do I add an avatar to my profile?)
Much thanks! :)

1) No. When you add the hopper it's all or nothing unfortunately.

2) I'm probably not much help here. We always hop because the parks are so close together so there's never really a rhyme or reason to our touring. We just fly by the seats of our pants and always manage to get everything we want to do done. If you're planning to have more lounging time this trip you may be able to manage hopping this time?

3) I believe you have to have 10 posts before you can add an avatar. After that you can do it by clicking onto your user name at the top right.

When I go solo or with others we never find DCA to be a full day. Now with Paradise Pier closed there's even less to fill the time.

If your budget allows I'd go with Hoppers.
To assist the challenge for you to hop due to your feet, I recommend renting a scooter.
Renting from an off site agency is easy.

When are your dates? The Food & Wine Festival is coming up at DCA, and that could easily stretch your time there into a whole day. Depending on how much you enjoy live music, eating, drinking, and watching the various bands and acts can take up quite a bit of time in each park. If you want to do any dining packages (do the WOC Dessert Package and a F! Dining Package -- so much fun!), those will add time to your day, too. Agree with Geemo about looking into renting an ECV. Deckert's comes highly recommended here and on other boards. They will drop off and pick up at your hotel.

I was gonna say check out an ECV too. You don't have to use them all the time you can park it when you want to walk around and it will save your feet unnecessary walking, and you can sit on it while waiting in lines (any lines that aren't accessible you can chose to stand through or get a return time at the line for the ride). I love lounging and drinking and soaking up the atmosphere in DCA! Alfresco Tasting Terrace is a nice little gem and Carthay Lounge is not to be missed and even worthy of a follow up visit some trips. We often find ourselves in DCA during evenings for this very reason.

If you are sticking to 4 day no hopping tickets I would save the 2nd DCA day for the last, so 1 day DCA & 2 days DL split as you want first. This way if on the last day you really want more DL time you can, or you can stick to the original plan and hit DCA again.

From the prices it looks like upgrading to a park hopper while there will cost you the same no matter when you upgrade, $45 total for all days if you do it on the first day or $45 total even if you just do it on the last day.

@22Tink Hey, thanks for being the first to reply and answering my questions straight to the point :)

@Geemo Thanks for the answer! Yeah I feel like DCA doesn't really take up an entire day, but I'm guilty of going back to the hotel in the afternoon for a quick catnap and come back in the evening for the shows and rides. That's probably why I feel like I don't have enough time!
I'm pretty embarrassed to say that I never imagined myself renting a scooter! I'm young and decently healthy (just not really fit or have reasonable cardio), it's just the arches in my feet get sore standing in line for hours on end and I have low pain tolerance! I've got comfy shoes and insoles but it's just exhausting at the end of the day, maybe I'll bring some Tylenol (or is Advil better for sore feet?).
I'm also thinking of investing in MaxPass for 3 out of 4 days to save the distance of running to get FPs this time!

Awesome signature gif btw!

@theluckyrabbit I'm aiming to go in mid-August for the longer opening hours!
I feel like i've only seen the main 'shows' like WOC and fireworks and I'd like to spend more time just seeing other performances like the Royal Theatre, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln etc :)

@gottalovepluto Oooooh!!! I definitely want to try out Carthay this time, I'm thinking about getting the WOC dining package. Or is the dessert party package better? Hmmm...
And I really like your idea of saving the last day to decide what I wanna do! :)

The dessert party is far superior to the dining packages for WOC...it's the only option for having a seat at WOC.

I love DCA and if I had to pick one park over the other, would pick it. I know that puts me in the minority though. I agree with the suggestion above to play it by ear...start at DCA, then do DL, then decide how to allocate your remaining two days.

Loved the dessert party so much! Being able to sit and not be pushed and shoved by strangers was worth every penny to me.

Welcome CharleneTheDM, we are taking our first trip to Disneyland this summer. We are debating between hopper and no hopper as well. We live close to WDW and go all the time so it will feel weird to us not being able to switch parks in a day. We are also debating between 4 or 5 day tickets. We will be there Monday early afternoon to Friday evening. Anyone have suggestions?

If you're used to hopping in WDW definitely get the hopper if your budget allows. It's so easy to hop in DL! No buses or boats. It's literally a matter of walking across the esplanade. Downtown Disney is right there as well. The hopper really does add lots of flexibility and while I'm less inclined to hop in WDW, we always get 5 day hoppers at DL.

Get the hopper. You don't even have to go through bag check or security again so it takes less than five minutes to hop. I'd recommend five day tickets.
