question about makeup in the parks

I do not wear makeup in the parks....Yes I look better with makeup, I also look better in heels, but I don't wear those either!:lmao:

:rotfl2: Me too and I couldn't agree with your philosophy more. I've better things to do than fuss with makeup before visiting a theme park!

HA, I am a makeup queen - though sometimes I do go without it at Disney, though I usually hate how I look in pictures because my skintone is so uneven. Usually I wear tinted moisturizer in the parks with a little dusting of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder, MAC Paint Pot in a neutral color (that's a cream eyeshadow), and a little MAC Fluidline liner (doesn't budge a bit). I usually use a little lip stain and then layer chapstick over it since the stain lasts so long and the chapstick has sunscreen.

In cooler weather, I'll wear closer to my regular makeup, or if we're going out to dinner, I'll wear real eyeshadow and mascara.

If it's any indication how much I enjoy makeup, I keep a set of makeup brushes in my Owner's Locker. :rotfl:

i wear tinted moisturizer, which has sun screen in it as well. that is normally the only make up i wear. sometimes, ill wear mascara but its always so hot, because we always go in july, and it just alll sweats off. but i do wear make up if we go back to the room and clean up and wear sun dresses somewhere for the night. after i get cleaned up and its in the afternoon, i am usually okay wearing some make up, but never ever a lot. its always too hot lol

i really would like to look my best though, because my goal is to find someone to marry who loves disney as much as i do. i will be going to disney at least once a year my whole life, and whoever i marry better like it, so whats better than finding that person AT disney hahaha

I'm trying something new this time around. I picked up liquid mineral foundation by Physician's Formula and Talc-free powder (I have sensitive skin). I think it should hold up in the humidity. I tried it for the past couple of days and it looks natural and has good staying power.

I use a facial lotion with 15-30 spf first and let it dry. Then I use the primer from MAC and do my makeup like normal. The primer really helps keep my makeup on for much longer in the summer and it just feels like lotion so its not heavy at all. For those of you who have makeup allergies MAC has a book with the ingredients of all their products. They spent about an hour with me finding ones without gluten and sent me home with free samples. I will touch up my makeup if we are going out to a nice dinner but I stay picture presentable the whole time we are in the park. Now if only I could figure out a way to keep my hair looking decent for the whole day.

When I wear regular foundation, primer is ESSENTIAL! And I wear MAC Paint in Bare Canvas color as an eyeshadow base every makeup-wearing day of my life. :) (Paint is different than the Paint Pots I mentioned above.) It's amazing what a good primer will do.

Oh I almost forgot about the paint. Thanks for reminding me Tara! It is amazing I can put it on and if I fall asleep before removing my makeup, my eye shadow still looks great the next morning.

For those of you that wear mascara - I highly recommend dyeing your eyelashes! It's all natural, you can get it done at many reputable salons now, it's fairly cheap, and you don't have to worry about it running in the heat, humidity, and those happy tears of joy while in Disney.

I have mine done the week before we leave, and then while in the parks I stick to tinted spf and a shimmer chapstick.

This is what I'm doing this time, just to allow me to feel a little better whilst in the parks.

Previously I've not worn make-up, as I'm quite fair and need to put sunscreen on quite often during the day. Unfortunately, it'll be the same routine for me this time :) Make up free unless it's an evening meal :thumbsup2

Count me as a no makeup person. I have very fair combination skin and tend to burn easily (it is my Celtic roots). At WDW I wear 60 SPF sunscreen, and lip balm with at least 15 SPF--reapplying as needed. I also wear a protective sunhat and prescription sunglasses. I do my usual skincare routine (cleanse, tone, exfoliate) before the sunscreen. If we are going out somewhere special in the evening and I have time to do so, I will to back to the hotel to clean up and apply makeup. But I don't stress over it. If anyone catches me in a photo without makeup, I really don't care. They can tell by my expression that I'm enjoying myself--and that is the important part of any vacation!

Yes, I wear make-up to the parks. I use the Neutrogena SPF 70 LIQUID sunscreen first. It is GREAT under make-up. I then use BareMineral foundation just to cover under eye circles and some other discolorations (I don't put it all over in Disney just because I want to get out of door faster than I would if I put a whole face on), and I finish with the oil-free powder compact from Clinique. I do wear a little blush, waterproof eyeliner on top lashes (cat eye), waterproof mascara, and lipstick. I also use the Lancome Powder Pencil for Brows.

Do what makes you feel comfortable and/or beautiful, whether that is going out with a fresh, naked face or full glam make-up, whatever the reason. Please just wear sunscreen/block before going out. And above all, HAVE FUN :thumbsup2

How does the liquid sunscreen differ from the normal sunscreen? Is it less greasy? Does it last as long? I wear the 70 spf or the 90 sph when I am in the parks. It works well, but my face does get greasy.

I wear make up in the parks. I wear SPF 15 Foundation, light powder, and mascera. Why? Because I need my make up!! I also do my hair. Yes, I know it is pointless, but I like to get one good pic in at the beginning of the day before I sweat off the make up, and get wind blown hair!

I always tease my DW and tell her to leave the make up and heels at home. She can leave the heels just not the make up.

Great question! I only wear mascara into the parks in the daytime, usually. I sweat a lot in the heat, and I'm just not comfortable in makeup on my face in those conditions. I do bring my makeup and wear it at night for sure to ADRs, and nighttime parks for sure. Just not during the day in the heat for me. :goodvibes:goodvibes

It is not greasy; that's why I LOVE it! It absorbs so quickly, too. It's like the consistency of half & half. It says "LIQUID" on the bottle and "LAYERS GREAT UNDER MAKEUP" or something like that.

It lasts all day for me, but maybe because I don't really sweat on my face :confused3.

It is pricier than the non-liquid Neutrogena; where I live it is about $11.50 for a little over an ounce. But I love that I don't have to wait a half hour for my face to stop looking like an oil slick before makeup application, LOL. My face stay matte a lot longer, too.

Hope that this helps!

another odd sounding tip that works- if you have oily skin apply milk of magnesia with a cotton ball very lightly over your face as a primer. Foundation lasts a lot longer and MOM is way cheaper than the primers or mattifiers on the market

i have a question would you or do you wear makeup to the parks? i have it all packed to go should i wear it in the parks? or do to the heat will it just run into a puddle on my shirt? dont get me wrong in mot someone who cant even go to the mailbox without her makeup its just when i go somewhere different it makes me look a little more finished so to say.

NO Way Jose! I do take my Mary Kay tinted moisturizer though. It has sunscreen in it and adds some color to my face. I cannot live without my face wash and my moisturizer!

Most normal days, I do wear mineral foundation, eye shadow, mascara, blush and lipstick (when I remember to put it on!)

When I go somewhere different, I don't particularly care if I am wearing makeup or not. It's my vacation! Also, I don't want to be bothered with worrying about it smearing if it gets wet or hot.

One of the best tips I have ever come across, and I thought it was totally crazy until I tried it! (Just make sure you get plain MOM and not mint-flavored :rolleyes1) I have super-oily skin, and this has worked better than anything else to keep my face matte throughout the day. Although, I do find that I still need a very, very light layer of the Skin Rever-Upper under my Bare Minerals foundation, or else my skin looks really chalky and flat.

An added bonus to using the MOM is that it helps to heal up any acne more quickly.
