question about makeup in the parks

I have very fair skin and I burn if I'm in the sun for more than 35 seconds or so. :rotfl:

So I don't wear makeup in the summer because I need constant reapplications of heavy sunscreen.

I don't wear make up in the parks since it all melts off but I keep a powder compact and some lipstick in my purse at all times in case I need it. I do bring a small make up bag with mineral foundation, blush, mascara and eyeshadow on vacation with me for nicer meals and such. Wet N Wild makes a great long wearing cream/gel eyeshadow that wears very well.

"I wear a tinted moisturizer with a high SPF, waterproof mascara, and a tinted lip balm with high SPF."

This is what I do to. Of course we usually go in July or August!

I wear what I would wear at home, except I use waterproof mascara at WDW for the rides, heat and tears of joy ;)! I figure I will be getting my picture taken and I don't want to look like one of the ghosts in the Haunted Mansion:)!

I don't want to scare small children at the parks!! My dark circles under my eyes are enough for people to ask me if I'm okay, if I've been punched or just crying. Sigh, I've just got very pale skin. So I wear mineral powdered makeup and mascara and lip gloss. I don't go overboard, but I don't want to look like a CM at the HM durng MNSSHP!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I try to get away with the bare minimum...SPF first, then mineral foundation (I use Philosophy), a little powder blush, always mascara (waterproof), lip gloss. I am very pale and freckled, so I use a self-bronzer (Jergens) on my arms/legs in the summer so I do not look ghostly pale. Another alternative would be to use a tinted moisturizer w/SPF. .

This will sound weird but is one of the best tips I have learned on the DIS:

Before applying makeup, put a thin layer of stick deoderant on your face. Obviously scent-free and unused on your underarms!:goodvibes Let it dry a few minutes, and then apply your makeup like normal.

I tried this in June and it worked great! My face didn't sweat or get shiny, so my makeup stayed on. I washed my face as soon as we got back to the hotel, and my pores didn't get clogged, even though I am acne-prone. I believe the person who posted this tip said she worked in a hot environment and all her coworkers do it.

Going along with the "this sounds weird but it works" theme - Monistat has some anti-chafing gel that comes in a little tube - put it on before your makeup and it has a similar effect! :cool1:

I use my typical everyday sunscreen and then all the make up I usually use: powder, blush, mascara, eyeshadow and chapstick. I am not Beauty Walk ready, but I look like myself. I don't bother to re-apply though. That's just too much work.

Bare minerals foundation/powder. I love this stuff! It's quick to apply and doesn't slide off in the heat.

I want to at least look alive all those family photos! I'm so pale with dark circles under my eyes that I look sickly in photos if I'm not wearing a little makeup.

I also wear waterproof mascara and Burt's Bees tinted lip moisturizer.

Just some eye liner & mascara. Enough to make me look alive! :lmao:

I wear a tinted moisturizer with a high SPF, waterproof mascara, and a tinted lip balm with high SPF. I think it's just enough even though it is more geared to protecting my face than beauty. I plan to just twist up my hair everyday and wear a visor type hat. I do spray tan all summer so that helps.
But I think some people look beautiful without it and I know many are comfortable with more. Do what makes you feel good.

Which one is it? I don't normally wear make-up, but I think I need to protect my face in September and a tinted moisturizer with SPF sounds exactly what I need.

I put on a layer of spray on face sunscreen, bronzer, mascara, and chapstick! I normally go in May and we go back to the hotel during the hottest time of the day so I can typically reapply.

For those of you that wear mascara - I highly recommend dyeing your eyelashes! It's all natural, you can get it done at many reputable salons now, it's fairly cheap, and you don't have to worry about it running in the heat, humidity, and those happy tears of joy while in Disney.

I have mine done the week before we leave, and then while in the parks I stick to tinted spf and a shimmer chapstick.

i always have my "face" on, especially on vacations where pictures will be taken. i'm a dior beauty stylist, so i guess i'm just used to wearing a lot. i have good luck with dior forever extreme wear foundation and powder. it has spf 25, is waterproof, and is made to stay during extreme hot/cold conditions. i'm not big on shadow when i'm in the parks, but some waterproof liner and waterproof diorshow is a must. i like lip glow for a touch of color on the lips, and it changes different colors on everyone, plus it has spf 10.

hope this helps!

:cheer2:

I use covergirl tinted moisturizer with SPF and dust some minerals powder over it, mascara and lipgloss.

Heck yeah I wear makeup in the parks. If I let a little heat keep me from putting on makeup, I'd only wear it about a month out of the year. Here in Louisiana, the heat & humidity is every bit as a oppressive as it is in Florida. I like the Revlon Colorstay line and any kind of waterproof mascara. Not only do I look better with makeup on, it adds another layer of sun protection to my very fair, freckle prone skin.

I'm naturally fair skinned, so I will use a facial sunscreen, then a tinted moisturizer (I like Aveda), occasionally bare minerals mineral veil (the moisturizing one), a touch of liner and some mascara. I tend to "glow" quite a bit so I may look for the Monistat product.
