I'm so excited! I just committed to buying 50 points at Vero Beach. (I know, not much but hope to add more later). My closing date is around Sept 10.
I would like to book 2 nights in October at one of the Disney Resorts. (I Bedroom) midweek. Would there be availablility anywhere, OKW or SSR?
Have any of you tried to book last minute and were successful?
We want to use 2007 points the week of March 25. Not easter week but the week before. With closing, our window would only be 6 1/2 months, not seven. Again will I be able to get anything at WDW?
Thanks for any insight you can give. :yay:

I think you would have better luck with a 1 BR than a studio. I'm almost sure SSR will have something available.

The only problem you may encounter is that time of year is F&W festival which is getting more and more popular. The Epcot resorts will be tough. WLV will be tough because it is smaller and has fewer rooms. But, you may be able to find something at OKW or SSR.

I know one year we went down in October and my mother decided to join us at the last minute (2 weeks out - but that is last minute to me!). I tried to get another studio, but could not. However, we were at BCV and didn't try elsewhere because she wanted to be near us. She bunked with us. Didn't make my hubby happy... but we were within the 4 person limits and she shared a bed with my DD. :)

Good luck!

I just got my DVC points a couple of weeks ago. I called to see if I could reserv something relatively last minute. I said any week from End of Oct to Mid Dec, excluding Thanksgiving week. Mon-Thurs for a BCV studio. No luck. I'm waitlisted without much hope.

I inquired this morning about a 1 bdrm the week of 10/22---- SSR was all that was available which I'm happy with and took.

I think the only way to know for sure is try. One of my daughters booked New Years Eve at two months, so you never know. You may have more luck at 4-6 weeks than you do at 3-4 months because of people cancelling just under the 31 day deadline. Obviously the more flexible you are regarding exact dates, accommodations, and choice of resort, the more options you might find available.

DisneyFos,

Did you ask about SSR or OKW?

Nope..Just BCV. We are heading to Disney next week for a wedding at the Yacht Club..so the fall trip would just be "extra" and an opportunity to try out our home resort.

I'm somewhat dissapointed with all the money spent and not having a reservation to show for it  but banking the points for next years 2 Bedroom isn't too terrible :)

About a week ago-- I booked a 2 bedroom at OKW for Oct 13-17 (Fri-Tues) with no problem... (However, The Beach Boys were announced just before that and MS said that more calls were coming in)

I say go for it...

We had a reservation for 16 days in September at OKW -our home resort. Unfortunately we had to cancel. I tried to reschedule for October at any resort, there was nothing available. I am quite bummed. We are thinking now we will bank our points and go several times or for longer next year. Still, it makes me sad we won't get there this year. With family issues and my retirement looming, I was really looking forward to it.
