How much is a general tip for Magical Express Drivers and regular daily bus drivers from hotel to park? I'm on electric wheelchair so they actually have to do more for me like lower ramp, buckle chair, etc. What do you all suggest would be a good tip?

I am not sure how much to tip the ME drivers but the bus drivers to and from the parks do not take tips. And as far as I know are not allowed to take tips. Maybe someone else can help with the ME drivers. I would assume the same as skycap and bellhops, $1-2 per bag.

ME is $1-2 per bag. I might consider adding $5 for assitance with a wheelchair. It would depend on the driver.

ME is $1-2 per bag.

I'm confused - we're not taking our luggage on ME. Are you talking about tipping the bellhop who brings you your bags or are you talking about tipping the person(s) who load/unload your luggage if you happen to take your luggage with you on ME?

It seems to me that we seen containers for people who wanted to tip the drivers of the park buses?,but we were there In april of 08 they might have changed It since then. ME drivers, most of the time when going to the resorts they are not carrying any bags but Its not bad to tip them even If Its a buck, every little can count.

Some people do not tag their bags as they don't want to wait 3 hours for them to arrive. The bus driver puts the bags under the bus and then retrieves them upon arrival at the resort. I assume that's what they're talking about? In Feb 08 I remember seeing a sign on the bus that said somehting like "tips accepted for great service."

You do not tip bus drivers from hotel to parks. They paid quite well (which is well deserved!) :)

When DME first started most people were under the assumption that since Disney handled the tips for the baggage handlers that bring the luggage to your room that they also took care of the DME drivers. It was subsequently found out that this is not true. If the driver puts anything under the bus for you (carry ons, regular luggage, strollers, etc) or if they are exceptionally friendly, helpful, and informative, then most people do tip them a few bucks.

I go to WDW 3-5 times a year and have been using the DME since it's first week of existence. Yeah, I was one of their first guinea pigs.:rotfl: In all my trips I have ever not tipped the DME driver twice. The first time I ever used the service I thought Disney had prepaid the driver's tips and then one other time when we had a really bad, scary driver. That guy was just weird and spooky. All we ever have underneath the bus are our carry ons, so we usually tip $1.00-$2.00 a bag, more if he was friendly and talkative..

Here's the deal. You land in Orlando, you skip baggage claim, you go to the DME counter and then to your DME bus. If you have carry-ons, you can have the driver stow them in the cargo bay of the bus, and you'll get them right back as soon as you arrive at your resort. In such an instance, I would definitely tip the driver the customary $1 - $2 per bag. But if you have no carry-ons for the driver to handle, and the driver didn't provide you with any personalized service, then a tip would be nice but it's not at all necessary.

Now, back to your checked bags, your suitcases, the ones that DME will deliver to your room for you. The Bell Services cast members who deliver these bags to your room are, believe it or not, pre-tipped by Disney, as part of the DME service. You should not tip them, because they are receiving a tip already. It is an actual, real extra payment they receive from their employers, and from what I've read the CMs compete over who gets to deliver DME luggage, either because it's bigger than guest tips or because it's a guarantee of a tip and they sometimes get stiffed by live customers.

Wow, are you sure you saw a tip jar on a Disney Transport bus??? Really? Wow. They'd be terminated on the spot for an offense like that. They are definitely NOT permitted to do anything like that.
