Question about Halloween themed attractions???

The Disney site says that the Halloween theming ends on Nov 1st (last night of the Halloween Screams fireworks I see). Does this mean that the rides with Halloween theming (HM, SM) will still have this theming on Nov 1st but the very next day they will be back to the original attraction? Does it take more time than this to revert back to usual? Just wondering if we will be able to rides these rides with both? That would be really cool, especially since we have never been to DLR before.:)

Also - I have never ridden SM at WDW. I like fast, curvy rollercoaster type rides (love BTMRR) but have a hard time with very big straight down drops (Splash Mtn almost killed me;)). I am a bit fearful of doing a rollercoaster in the dark - is it so dark that you really don't know what is coming? Are there big drops? Is it worse with the Halloween theming?

HM will keep its Nightmare Before Christmas theme through New Year's, but SM's Halloween overlay will likely come down right after Nov. 1. This is the first year that DL's Space has had Ghost Galaxy, so I'm not sure how long it will take to remove it. I rode it a few days ago, and it was the same ride, but with spooky stuff projected on the walls. It doesn't seem like it would take long to de-Ghostify it though. Other DISers can correct me if I'm wrong.

As for the ride itself, it doesn't have any big drops, just lots of curves/turns. It is pretty dark and difficult to see where you're going. You can see a little better if you're in the front row. Hope this helps.

As Tony said, the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion will remain through the year-end holidays. Ghost Galaxy will revert to the normal Space Mountain on November 2nd or 3rd, as Disney says they can change the attraction back overnight.

Space Mountain @ Disneyland is very different than the one at WDW, so even if you rode that one it wouldn't really compare. The DL Space Mountain has no real drops, maybe a tiny one towards the end, and smaller than the drops on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The ride IS dark, but you can see the track if you look. It's more like a fast adventure ride through space than a conventional roller coaster. It does go fast, though, and has a quick tight spin at the end. It's really a lot of fun.

Space Mt. is scheduled to be down for one day (Nov 2) to remove the Halloween overlay.
