Question about getting into BWV or BCV President's week if not home resort

Hi everyone,

I'm making some arrangements to rent points from someone for President's week of 2009. We only want to stay at Boardwalk or Beach Club Villas, but this person does not own at one of those places.

Is it even possible to get in during President's week at one of these places in the seven month window? (As a test, I had asked a friend to check on President's Week of 2008 right now, and there was no availability...of course, we are checking only five months out instead of seven.)

My sister booked President's week at BWV in 2005 and BCV in 2006. She didn't seem to have any problem booking exactly at the 7 month mark both times.

It's possible to get BWV or BCV for President's Week at the 7 month window, but it's not a guarantee. There are lots of members who want to stay at the EPCOT resorts and do not own there. DVC has added many many members in the last couple of years. There will be competition!

Those who are successful will call day by day as soon as the window opens and as soon as MS opens (9 am Eastern). It's possible that you would need to waitlist for some of the days.

Is your owner willing to call day by day and waitlist for you? (Not all are). If so, you have a reasonable chance.

All that assumes that you aren't planning on a standard view, Boardwalk view or Grand Villa at the BWV or a dedicated 2 bedroom unit with 2 Queen beds in the second bedroom at the BCV. Those views/unit types will almost surely be gone (and have waitlists) before the 7 month window opens.

We had 2 studios at BWV standard view during Presidents week thsi year. Both were booked at the 7 month mark (calling day by day)

The Daytona 500 is usually run that weekend.
We have gone before and going again in 2008.
It's a very busy time in WDW becasue of President's Day weekend and the Daytona 500.
Book early.

I was about to say you would be out of luck... then I saw the year!

We have gone a few times during Pres. Week. It was actually more difficult switching to VWL and BWV then I thought, even with my timely calling, but it did happen in the end. Here is our experience for our trip last winter...

We own at BCV and wanted to do a split stay at VWL and BWV this past Pres. Week (from Thurs before - Friday). It is a very popular time. I called day-by-day at 9ish to transfer our ressie from BCV to VWL for the Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon of Pres. Weekend. We were reserving a 2 bedroom and got the first 4 nights in a dedicated and had to waitlist Monday night (maybe should have chose a lock-off). For the BWV portion of our trip, called at the end and had to waitlisted the last three nights (Tues, Wed.& Thurs). We didn't want to move twice, so waitlisted those nights in one block. Since I had to waitlist VWL for Pres. Day, I also waitlisted that day for BWV.

So after the 7 month window opened, I had 4 nights at VWL (Thurs-Sun) and my initial BCV ressie for 4 nights (Mon-Thurs), waitlisting for those days. So we waited... and waited... and waited. I guess that is why they call it a waitlist. I called up to check and the BWV cam through for both waitlists (all 4 nights) at about 3 months before our trip. At about two months before our trip the Pres. Day at VWL came through. It was after the news about the pool rehab came out (which is probably why it was cancelled) so we passed on that day settled on the 4 nights at each.
