Help! My bf proposed to me at Disney World 2 weeks ago. I have always wanted to get married at WDW and I've been just starting to check out the disneyweddings website to see what the options are. We don't have a whole lot of friends & relatives and out of that I'm not sure how many would travel so I'm thinking the Escape will work.

Question-- I know the Escape can have up to 18 guests depending on the location. When Disney prices it, is it a flat rate for a certain amount of people and then you add $$ for each additional person? Like the "from $4500" you see on the website is only for 5 guests and each additional is $xxx?

I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea of what this will cost :rotfl2: :goodvibes

It's the base price for the whole thing with absolutely no add-ons. It doesn't matter how many guests (sort of).

What do I mean by that? The only reason the number of guests come into it (as long as you stay within the number you are allowed - and you HAVE to, Disney is completely hardline on that) is for the cake and champagne reception. They tell you how many people the bottle of champagne (or 2 bottles of sparkling cider if you choose to substitute that for the champagne) will serve. If you have more guests than that, you will need to purchase more champagne/cider. Any other drinks are extra. But you don't get charged for the extra people just because they are there.

The cake will easily serve everyone, even if you have 18. And, unless you have really big cake eaters, likely without touching the top layer, if you are one that really wants to save it. Or, you can pay extra to upgrade the cake.

Some people decide to skip the c&c althogether and serve the cake at a post-wedding lunch/dinner. If that's the case, then there wouldn't be a charge for extra bottles of champagne/cider. There may be a charge for cake transportation or cake cutting or something - I forget how that works.

Technically, you can get a wedding for whatever the base price is. Very few people manage it - most always add at least a few extras. But the extra amount added by the number of people is determined by the drinks.

Oh, that's great news. My mom said she thought the price doubled if you actually had 18 guests. Maybe she was reading about something else...phew..

Oh, no, no, no! I had an escape wedding in February and I only paid an additional $376 or something like that. I had 15 guests plus DH and I. We got extra champagne and some extra floral and that was it. So it is very very possible to keep it as close to the base price as you want.

Now, we doubled our cost of the wedding by doing a plated 8 course meal at Jiko after, but it was worth it to me. Had that money been an issue, I could have come up with a meal option for a 1/5 of the cost and it would have still been amazing, imho. Good Luck planning!

our escape wedding was the base price 4000 which was from 2008 prices, and we've added a sand ceremony kit from disney floral for $25, rose petals on the aisle (disney floral again) for $65.

We decided to have Randy and Stan do the photography and videography for about $1700 you can get a webcast of the wedding too! Ours includes the HD video upgrade of $350

We are buying our own floral which i hope looks good, incredibly cheap price, but floral from disney was $11 for boutonieer, $25 corsage, $175 bouquet like you'd use for your MOH. The wedding price includes your floral for you and your DF.

Sunset Point only allows a max of 10 guests which includes you two, other locations can have up to 18. It's 1000 extra to have the wedding pavilion.

Hope that helps, Congratulations!
