Question about Epcot entrance

We will be staying at BWV for our Christmas trip. Can you enter Epcot at the International Gateway first thing in the morning (8AM) before the World showcase is open?

The IG opens at the same time the Main gate opens.

We're never up that early, but from what I understand, the International Gateway opens at the same time as the main entrance. It is definitely prior to the WS opening (which is 11 am). They have it blocked off so you can't cross the bridge towards France. You have to walk towards FW and they have it blocked so you can't walk towards Mexico when you get over there.

The also have CM along the path to ensure that you can't go elsewhere. We did that a couple of times when we were staying a the Yacht club. It is nice to walk along and have it completely empty in the morning.
