Question about Dueling Dragons

I love this ride to death!

Okay, I had to get it out of the way. Anyway, this summer my boyfriend and I are trying to make a trip out to both WDW and Universal/IoA. I know that Harry Potter is in the works, but I'm not sure exactly what is going on...So forgive my lack of knowledge in that department. (I like Harry Potter, but I'm no rabid fangirl. lol)

My boyfriend hasn't been to any of these parks since he was a little boy, and I think this will be his first time to Islands of Adventure. (which is my favorite park of the two! Hooray!) I really want him to experience the things I love about IoA, but a major one of those things is Dueling Dragons.

Does anyone know if they've started construction yet? And if they have, does it signifigantly affect the Dueling Dragons area, or the areas around it? Thanks so much in advance!

They have started construction but I don't think they have touched DD yet and may not this year but imagine they will when it gets closer to Harry Potter opening and I bieleve thats not until 2009 but I could be wrong and if I am someone will set me strait

Correct Lawrence...nothing major should occur until 2009 or so.

No major construction to speak of yet. The only thing I've heard about DD is a shortening of the queue and a possible re-theme of the ride.

You can see the construction from the Flying Unicorn, and while riding DD, but it's really nothing that takes away from the rides.. we thought it was cool to get the peeks over the wall and look forward to our next peek in Aug, and again in October
