I am leaving with my girlfriend in 10 days for our 8 day vacation to Disney World!

We are staying at the Dolphin, and I have some questions about the rooms. We requested an Epcot view with a Balcony. Most of the photos I have seen of the Dolphin, the only rooms with balconys are the 4 buildings attatched to the main building of the dolphin. Is this the only area of the resort with balconys? As well, can you see Epcot from any of the balconys on all 4 of the smaller wings?

Please let me know, it is VERY crucial we get this view to make our vacation ideal! We are not a SPG by the way.

1st question..did you pay the higher price for one of those balcony rooms, or did you pay for a standard category room?

First off, SPG is free. Sign up at www.spg.com. That will increase your chances if you are not willing to pay, but, frankly, if you want a balcony AND an Epcot view I think you will need to upgrade and pay for it. When we requested a balcony at check in, we were told we would have to pay $30 a night. I think almost 1/2 the rooms at the Dolphin have balconies. It's every other room, except on club level and some of the suites in the middle where there are no balconies.

I would do as swilphil suggests and join Starwood

The Dolphin is a fantastic resort--we've had many different views over the years, all of them were lovely :)

There is a section on the Swan/Dolphin website to make requests. Since this is obviously important to you, I'd contact the resort with an explanation of what type of view you'd like to have and ask them what is necessary to make that happen. (Or, you could call the hotel directly)

good luck! :)

Ok, I'm curious . . . It's "very crucial?" Need some particular magic :wizard: on a particular evening, to set a particular plan in motion? Maybe a certain question??

If I'm on to something, and I'm correct, tell the reservations people at the Dolphin the situation, you'll probably get some assistance if you want/need it.

Have a great vacation!

The wings that are attached to the main bldg are pretty much the only regular rooms that have balconies (aside from the major executive suites in the main bldg).

As swilphil mentioned it's about 1/2 of these rooms that do have them. The rooms that face EAST that are 1/2 way toward the end of the wings are the best rooms for an EPCOT view with the furthest EAST wing FACING EAST having a full view of the fireworks (especially from the upper floors). The end rooms on these wings are fabulous, they have torret balconies which are very private & some have an additional regular balcony (they kinda have a panaromic view), those on the east side will have excellent views of the fireworks.

Depending on the time of year when you are going you may be able to mention the "special" occasion you are celebrating and they may help accomodate you depending on what's available (never hurts to ask). ENJOY!! The Dolphin is a great place to stay!!

Just to clarify.....balconies can be found only in the wings.....the 4 "fingers" that come out from the main triangle-shaped building. About 1/2 of those rooms have balconies....every other room I believe.
