Question about dessert on DDP

I have been working on our food plan for our trip in December. We are on the DDP. I have been looking at the menus for our TS ADRs. It seems like alot of food for us. We don't normally order dessert when we eat out. I was wondering if its a dessert choice that we don't have to keep refrigerated, can we take it with us to go? We do not have any buffets as TS. However, one of our ADRs is Ohana, will they let us take the breadpudding to go, since it is a "family style" meal?

yes you can. Problem is lugging them around a park afterward...where do you put the dessert containers when you're on a rollercoaster?:rotfl:

It's easier to take one with you to go if you are not going to be doing much else that evening. If you are going right back to your room and have a refrigerator, you can get something that requires refrigeration. If not, just try and figure out where to keep it if you are still touring the parks. If you have something like a small backpack with you this should not be a problem. Also depends on the attractions you will be enjoying...as above poster stated, what if you go on a roller coaster?

Not sure about taking out dessert at Ohana since it is AYCE.

We are going to play it by ear as far as if we take the desserts to go. It will depend on our agenda. Some of our reservations are late, so it may work on those dates.

Sounds like a plan! We don't go back for a while but from now on we are staying at BWV (new DVC members!), and will probably end up eating at Spoodles for dinner at least once on every 10-night trip, so we could take the dessert to our villa and keep it in the fridge. That would be on a night we are not returning to a park.

One time when we ate at Caseys Corner, we both got brownies. I didn't want mine so I gave it away to a family who was eating near us. Of course that is something that is completely wrapped so wouldn't work for anything that comes out in the open. I don't know if they ate it or threw it away but it is an idea. :thumbsup2

i'm planning to take my narcoosees dessert (almond crusted cheesecake)to go with me (right back to the room!)

We have a diaper bag type backpack that has a wipeable, leakproof section that is insulated- we generally put our desserts in there if we take them to go. I know AYCE places will, if you're very nice and they are too, pack up leftovers for you- particularly if you have to dash out with an unhappy child mid-meal.

I'm more likely to take dinner leftovers and eat my table service dessert at the restaurant. Creme brulee isn't so much a to-go item. We're more likely to be hauling around a piece of chicken or steak than a piece of cake, though we often have 2 or 3 of those prepackaged chocolate bundt cakes in the backpack after lunch....and unopened Mickey applesauce.
