Question about DDP room cards!

We are going in Feb. and I made reservations for me, DH, DS (age 3), and my mom. Because we wanted two rooms, we had to do a separate package with a separate ressie number from my mom. We did get a "travel with" number that was supposed to link the two reservations.

My question is this, will I have access to my mom's dining credits on my room card? When we eat dinner, can I just give them my room card to deduct all the credits, or will we have to take two adult credits and one child credit off mine and then have them take one adult of my mom's card? (That sounds like kind of a hassle to keep straight.)

Does this question even make sense?

Dining credits are on the room key for the person (or people) in that room. So your room card will be 2A 1C and your mom's will be 1A.

Now, if you let the server know what you're doing, they will have no problem with charging each card for the proper number of meals. It's really not that big of a deal and especially at counter service, your mom will order her meal and hand them her card.

Just remind the server that you and your dh and son are in one room (1 card) and mom is in another (and a separate card).

Have a great time. We'll be there early February too.

We did it both ways. Dh and I were on separate cards, but usually we would just use one card per restaurant. But we had equal credits on both.

They are very good at figuring it out, so don't stress. Have fun!

We also had 2 rooms and just used whichever room key was handy. We were always able to take 4 credits off the room key with no problems even though it was technically for 2 people.

We had a similar dining situation as you although the second room had 2 adults. I would give one card and tell them it was for myself and the two children (although it did say 1A/2C so I probably didn't have to say that) while one person from the other room gave the server their card (2A). It was not a big deal, the server would bring back two pens, two receipts and our two cards. The receipt always tell you at the bottom how many of that type of service you have left. I strongly urge you to save your receipts should there be any credit issues down the road. Saving the previous receipt helped us clear an issue where a restaurant charged too many credits.

We had 3 rooms eating together and never once had a problem, they seemed to treat it kind of like had we requested seperate checks. It really is not a hassel as your mom will have to have her card on her anyhow since it will be her room key and her ticket to the park.

Our situation was a bit different and more complex. We were a grand gathering. My DD(13) was registered in my aunt's room, so her credits were part of that room. Although most of our TS's were together, we did do a few separate, and quite a few times we ate our CS apart from the group. We were never once questioned about ordering a quantity of meals that did not correspond to our KTTW card. Although my daughter did have her's with her, we felt it was easier to only use it when we were with my aunt (so she'd have accurate tallies). Since we used some of our room "credits" for my DD, my aunt would use some of hers for us when we were together.

Now I am sure others' experiences may differ. Prior to leaving for our August trip I read a report here from a woman who, in fact, was not able to use her TS credits at a particular restaurant for anything other than what was on her KTTW card. I was completely prepared for that scenario. However, we did not have that experience at all.

Like with nearly all aspects of life, prepare for the worse case and hope for the best!

As a family of six, we had two rooms. On paper, Disney split DW and DH in different rooms in their system, each got 2 children and the cards read 2A,1C. I only used one card at a time as it was easier to finish one card first and then the other. Only once was I asked about what my card (2A,1C) said and the amount of people (4A,2C) I was paying for and I just explained the situation. Server just said Oh, and no one else ever asked us. We were always a table of 6.

I did notice on the new 2007 borchure on the last page it does state that credits cannot be used for other people not on the plan. I realize all your party is on the plan, but I thought I would mention this. I know when we had extra credits left we hung out in the food court and offered to "buy" strangers meals. So I wonder if this would not be allowed now. It used to just say non transferrable when we used it, not specifically it can not be used for meals for others.
