Hello,

My husband asked me to post this question to you guys. Have you ever personally known somebody who was chosen to stay in Cinderalla's Castle Suite?

I was under the impression (read somewhere ) that sometimes Disney will randomly choose a family to spend the night in the suite. He thinks it is just a rumor.

Thoughts?

I know one person who got to stay in the suite, because they were randomly chosen. I do not know if they still do it, but I know they randomly selected people to stay in the suite during the Year(s) of a Million Dreams from 2007 to 2008. I'm sure someone else could provide you with a bit more information.

I think that was a couple years back during "The year of a million dreams". I COULD be wrong but I haven't heard of being able to choose to stay there.

Hope that helps!

I don't think they choose people anymore to stay up there randomly...

Hopefully someone on here knows the real details.

They used to choose people NIGHTLY during the YEAR of a MILLION DREAMS promo. Now it is used for prizes in contests etc.

Man, I miss YOAMD. I never won anything, but loved waking up each morning absolutely convinced THIS was the night I was staying in the castle! :lmao:

Word on the street is that they use it in sweepstakes and for VIP guests (know anyone marrying a Jonas?). I really just don't think it's used much these days.

Wow! I never heard of people getting to actually stay in the castle! That would be amazing!pixiedust:

I wish they would do this again too. I never one anything either, but it added a little excitement every day in the parks. Even though I never one anything, I loved seeing the people that did.

My sister one some FP's in MK during that promotion.

A Cast Member (and their family) is selected each month... so I know 2 people who have stayed.

Well, in all fairness, both of these people COULD have married Jonases........:lmao:

I think that's an awesome CM perk! Not the Jonas thing.... the castle thing. :rotfl:

I miss the YOAMD, too. I think I may be partial to that promotion because my first WDW trip was during that time. :lovestruc

We never were chosen to sleep in the Castle suite, but we were fortunate enough to win fastpasses at DHS. It was always so exciting to keep a look out for the Dream Team, even if they weren't coming towards us.

As has been previously posted, the Castle Suite used to be awarded nighty to a random family during "Year of a Million Dreams". Since that promotion ended, the Suite is used for various promotions and sweepstakes, usually to raise money for a specific cause or charity. They also use it to house VIP guests (like Maria Carey when she performed for the Christmas Parade broadcast) or, as someone pointed out, CMs, who can enter a drawing every month to win a nigh in the Suite. It's also used pretty regularly for Make-A-Wish kids and other Guests who are visiting on "lifetime" trips with similar charities.

And, of course, when Cindy and her Prince are in town, they stay there ....

My travel agent got to stay there for a night for selling the most Disney for her agency in the entire country. I was so jealous!! I would love to stay there, it is so beautiful!

Can you rent it for a night?

Mere mortals cannot. Do the mega-rich, famous, vips, etc get a shot to rent it?
Is it like Disney to invest in building/decorating/maintaining it only to give it away except for a few night each year? I'd be surprised to hear that.:confused3

a few years ago we were waiting at check in for dinner at crt and the cm said they'd just had miley cyrus staying up there for the week of her birthday...so since year of a million dreams ended i guess it's just people like her.

I actually saw a TR on a different forum at some point within the last year where some people got to spend a nt in the suite. Sadly, I don't recall the circumstances...but man was it neat. :wizard: I remember our first trip to CRT and they took us out in a fancy elevator due to crowds on the stairs. I jokingly asked the elevator attendant if she could take a detour up to the suite- not even sure if that elevator goes there- but she just laughed. Oh well- can't hurt ask. :goodvibes

If it gets me in the Castle Suite..Joe, Nick, I'm available. Frankly, I prefer Kevin (he's funny!), but he's taken. :rotfl:

No one can rent the suite, regardless of whether they are mega-rich, famous or mere mortals. You have to be invited to stay there, and it is at Disney's discretion.

It is not used only "a few nights each year". It's full more often than not, but it's not used every single night.
